I have just received my first Christmas card from South Africa! It is always sooooooo nice to receive an actual card that one can hang on the wall as part of the Christmas decorations. I still send out cards with a personal letter to friends and family (it takes quite a long time to do), but I prefer the personal touch to a text message on a cell phone or a general message on Face Book.

We continue to send Christmas cards.

I like to include a handwritten message too.  We have done the typed "newsletter" when the kids were little and had many activities.

We have never sent e-cards out at all we send Chris's cards on the time but not all the time so we got guess you would say we are still a Christmas card family we received Chris's card from some friends not friends and new letter from silo are old friends that moved away a but we look at the cards and letters and enjoy all so I think a regular card is better than e-cards as you get the   cards just get deleted! If you mail a take the time to mail a card I hang it is better because you they think you take the time at least to sign and may address at mail it to them. That messages sent out automatically..

I rather receive a christmas card the old fashion way and that is by mail or have it taped to my apartment door. I wouldn't bother opening a ecard because I usually assume its a virus or something.

I have sent e-cards to friends and family.  I've also received them too.  I don't mind getting or giving ecards.  Saves money, time, and less trash in the landfills.

I love to send and receive real Christmas cards!  I can't imagine sending "e-cards" for Christmas--way too impersonal for me!  I used to buy expensive cards, but this year bought pretty but less costly ones--have to cut back somewhere, but I'm still sending my cards!  I even went to the post office Friday and bought special Christmas stamps!

We still send Christmas Cards, have never sent e-cards.  We have cut down list due to the cost of cards and stamps.  Usually only send to family and close friends now, would love to send more, but the price really adds up  :sad1:

We still send them, just not nearly as many as we used to.  At the price of stamps these days, who can afford to send a bunch of them out????

I love to send and receive Christmas cards thru the mail..... although we just received a "green" Christmas card via email, with an attached PDF file... I didn't mind it, but for me, it is still paper envelopes and stamps!!

I prefer regular christmas cards. You always have them. You can also put them in a fireproof safe. There are some you would like to treasure, do to someone passing. Some people say put them on a folder on your computers they can crash. Put them on a disk they can scratch and not play.  Put them on a usb stick they sometimes dont work. Some people say treasure by memory, what if you cant remember?  The most safest is in your heart. You would also like to keep it front of you.

I send emails for my friends; get together with some family; call on the phone for other family.

I do have a small design business and type Christmas letters for the elderly. It's fun for them to choose designs....borders for the letter.

I haven't done either for some years now.  With all the computer technology, there's information overload; however, I always buy cards for my mother who is in a nursing home.

I do both.  Online greetings consist of a letter which can be printed on the receivers end.  Not just an email greeting.  And the folks who I don't have email addresses for, still get the same letter by USPS.

Do you send ecards or mail cards? I still like to give and received cards by mail.

Well, it depends who and where the cards are going to.  For me, my family is primarily in the same area as I am so mailing a card is silly.  But, to friends who live far away a card in the mail is always a nice way to say "thinking of you".  Of course, e-cards are just as good if the person(s) receiving them are computer literate - if not, there's just no point.  So, either way I really think it's the thought that counts!!!!  Merry Christmas!!!!

I like to send cards because I am in love with the idea of shopping for them. There are so many variations available in the stores doing Christmas time, it's FUN  :)  ;).

I usually mail Christmas cards.  I send a lot out, but don't receive return cards from some people I send them to.  This year I'm only going to send cards to people who send me cards.  It costs too much to mail and never receive a reply.

I try to brush that off, but I am also sorting narrowing my list based on this!

I make my own cards and send them out. It cost more that way 65 cents apiece if I add to many buttons to the front of the card.

I send cards to family members.  It is a very cheap alternative compared with buying individual presents for each person.  I actually have to send my cards soon, I forget how the mail gets crazy the weeks before christmas.  ahhhhh i still have to take my christmas picture!!! how does christmas always creep up on you

I do both.  I email if I don't have postal addresses on hand.  I do like sending them by post rather than email.  I think it's more personal.  Plus, who doesn't like to get mail in their mailbox?

Interesting topic. I have never sent or received a Christmas ecard. Maybe I will someday. My mother and I have sent and received Christmas cards for years. Just this year we received a beautiful Christmas tree card with red glitter from someone. It's on the entertainment center. My mother likes the nativity scene cards but they aren't as easy to find.

I typically do real cards with a letter to close friends/family.  I occasionally send an ecard to several online friends I've accumulated through activities (people I met on vacation or my trivia team).  Just got my cards done last night and in the mail today, hopefully ahead of the storm that's coming tonight.

We send cards and send them thru the snail mail. Since the cost of buying and sending them has become so exspensive, we limit them to close friends and family.
