Title: buses, trains, airplanes

Post by: diala84 on December 22, 2012, 08:12:45 am: I think I like train the best. Not as much of a wait to board as an airplane but still a fairly fast way to travel where you can enjoy the scenery. Although most of the time I drive or take a plane because it is usually cheaper than the cost of gas and lodging and less pay from work on the way to somewhere.

Post by: kaitsilva on December 28, 2012, 02:38:12 pm: Airplanes are the best option, in my experience. But if it's a reasonably short trip I'll go by bus because it's MUCH less expensive and not all that much of an inconvenience, it just tends to be not as clean cut.

I've never traveled by train! I know some friends of mine went on a train up the East Coast that broke down and turned into a total nightmare for them.. got home two days after they were supposed to... and that's been enough to keep me away from train travel, I suppose!

Post by: rmendoza1 on December 28, 2012, 02:43:05 pm: I dislike riding buses. I don't mind using the bus if it's just somewhere in my town or county, but for travel it's not as nice as a train or an airplane. Besides, you get food on an airplane or a train. :p

Post by: vickysue on December 28, 2012, 03:31:39 pm: I want to go to Alaska and ride the train there. It was pretty when we went but there are places you can't drive too that the train goes. And yu sure can't see much from the plain. Really the drive on the alcan highway and then the train. That is my ideal trip. Have been on a cruise there Oh well maybe next year.

Post by: rricardi58 on December 30, 2012, 12:09:48 am: I used to like to fly, but with all the hassle with security and charging for luggage and making sure you handle certain items properly, it is just no fun or enjoyable any more.
And if your flight is short, then it is better to drive.
