I live close to the Mexican border and I see alot of people wearing face masks here in San Diego. Is this happening elsewhere? ???
-
yeah, in New York, it's still all over the news,
luckily I'm in FL, so right now I don't have to worry, but then again it can spread anywhere O_O
-
haven't seen anything like that here ( philadelphia), but NJ and NY are pretty close.
i think you shouldn't overreact but remain cautious, you should always cover your face when sneezing and coughing....
And washing your hands isn't gonna hurt.....
-
things like this, that are on the news, seem so far away.
almost like it could never happen to me, or people i know,
or where i live. its an invincible feeling, i suppose?
which i know is silly...
because it totally is happening, and could happen here.
kinda scary to think about, but no, i haven't taken any
precautions yet.
-
i would be if i lived in ny,cal or texas.....or even close to mexico.
its pretty scary, but im not taking any precautions yet.
if i hear anything that its in pa, i will def start wearing masks n gloves.
-
??? still not taken any precautions wondering wat precaution to be taken to avoid :dontknow:
-
Im not taking any although I just herd on the news this morning that there are 6 possible cases in the state of Maryland now....great :bs:
-
Listening to the news this a.m. there are five cases in Illinois. Are there really any precautions to take other than staying away from people and buildings. In other words stay home and hide.
-
But, has anyone noticed that only the hispanic population is getting it..?! It did begin in Mexico and slowly spreading out, but to major areas like NYC, California, Texas, and now Maryland. But it seems that not one american has gotten the swine flu besides from regular seasonal allergies.

I actually live in Arizona and I haven't seen anyone wearing masks, just in the news.

I live in Indiana but haven't seen anyone where a face mask yet. I'll wash my hands and things of that nature but I'm not gonna go all out.

Live in Kentucky, so not that I'm aware of. I would say I'm washing my hands a little more often and trying to avoid people who seem to be sick, but I'm not exactly scared to leave my home. I think the situation is fairly exaggerated in developed nations (for good reason of course), but I certainly don't believe this strain will do anywhere near the damage of the 1918 strain, for instance. We've gotten MUCH better at battling these things.

I live in Central New York and there was a school closed a few couties over this weekend for cleaning. I guess there was a student who traveled to Mexico and contracted the disease.
It's scary and I make sure my kids wash their hands and sneeze/cough properly but, you can't live in a bubble.

The Swine Flu is pretty much like the normal flu in a sense. If you get it, there is a cure (Tamaflu or something like that) and you get better, bam! I think there has been one death so far from the Swine Flu in the US. It was from a 23 month old who lived in Texas, and young people still have developing immune systems. To me, I think people are over-reacting just a bit. But again, I do tend to wash my hands just a bit more now because there have been quite a few reported cases.

don't really know anything about it

:sad1:Last week, I was bitten by a brown recluse spider, and I had to go to the emergency room for treatment... IT WAS FULL OF SICK PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!{ironic} I live in California, and we are all afraid here. I came down with the flu 3 days ago, because I am SURE I caught it in the hospital when I went for treatment for my spider bite!!!! I am staying home, and NOT going back to the emergency room, because I don't want to spread it the way I got it!!!!!! I think it is just the regular flu though, which is good,, but I don't know how you can tell without a test for it.

I am sooo scared of Swine flu! Every time I sneeze it scares me to death. And I use purell or wash my hands every four seconds.
-
The strain we have up here isn't as bad as the one in Mexico, but all the same, I'm using hand sanitizer in my classroom, and I encourage my students to use it, too.
-
two cases here in our county. all surrounding counties also are reporting cases and i live up near the adirondacks in NY. A little scared. we live in a farming community that is worked by migrant workers...from Mexico. I keep drilling my kids about social distancing, hand washing, and not touching their faces while at school.
-
We have one confirmed case in Phoenix. An elementary school is closed for a week.
-
I think the government needs to be educating people instead of get everyone in a scared frenzy.
-
There are two cases confirmed in colorado yesterday one being a baggage handler at Denver International Airport. I am a little worried about it but not going to get paranoid. Me and my family are definitely taking the precautions though washing our hands constantly and hand sanitizer it is better to be safe then sorry

Where I live there are a few - very few - people freaking out over the H1N1 thing. . .not many though. Mostly they ignore it. Strangely enough the KIDS are causing more trouble than the adults in my town because they've heard about the 'swine flu' on TV. Whatever.
