They have all these groups that are preparing for the world to end, even got the reality show on television where they show people going out and buying goods, and ways to keep electronics working through radiation..Do you think they are wasting their time...
My point in this is how do they know they won't be out buying the materials for the world to end, when the nuclear bomb hits, are we really going to know when it happens, are we going to have time to get to a bomb shelter, and on top of that do you want to be here when it ends. I cannot even imagine continuing to live in a world with radiation, people going mad for food, ect. What are your thoughts on all of this?

I think it is good to be prepared like having some food storage or emergency kits. Having a working flashlight and knowing where to find candles, or have an emergency power generator. Of course you can't prepare for everything. But to have enough supplies for a few days or a week I think is wise.

It is good to prepare ourselves for emergencies. But really no one knows when the world will end.

No one knows the time when the world will end, but it you want or think it will help you cope to prepare for something you have no idea when or where will happen, then knock yourself out.

It's good to be prepared for any type of weather related emergencies, and no matter where a person lives one can never be sure when we would be attacked. The faces of our enemies always seem to change.
As far as the world ending no, This is a world with out end. I'll stand on that bible truth. Are some people wasting there time? They sure are but you can't tell them anything. :peace:

everyone should be prepared to some extent. Because you never know when something is going to happen. But to prepare for the end of the world, you will never know when it dose.
-
it is not a waste of time if that person thinks it is worth it.
-
You don't know when the world will end so why worry about it. just live for the day. Yeah prepare for weather related stuff but even then prep could be wasted if you are caught unawares by a storm.

I know that there are many groups that claim they know when the world will end. So far their predictions have proved false. Do any of us know when, if in our live time, the end will come. As the previous poster has pointed out it is wise to have a few emergency provisions on hand.

My views on the worlds end is that the bible says no one not even my son knows the day or hour so God is the only one that knows so yeah its a waste of there time when they can be doing something else to make sure they are on Gods side.

It is not the end of the world! But...you must prepare for other disasters.

That's their decision and if they want to do all that well good for them. I am not going to do it.

Yes I think that the People preparing for the world to end are wasting their time, I mean if the whole world is going to end, it's not like they are going to survive....lol

That's awesome. I was thinking the same thing. Scientists predict that the ultimately the world (Earth) will be destroyed when our sun explodes, creating a black hole or supernova or something (any astronomers out there wanna help me out?).
On the other hand, it's not necessarily a bad thing to be prepared for an emergency. I'm not exactly super-prepared, but I do little stuff like keep working flashlights in easy access.

The way I see it, I'd rather live my life to the fullest than to live in fear every day.
Any day could be out last one. You really never know what's going to happen or if you'll make it to the end of the day.
Why waste your time preparing for the end? You'll miss out on living.

Yes, I think that all these people who spent their life savings on the chance the world was ending are crazy. 5% of all Americans maxed out their credit cards and 1% told off their bosses and quit their jobs. Really???? Bet you feel dumb now when you woke up Friday morning.

I believe we should live every day as though our time left is short, since we are never guaranteed another day. This does not mean to avoid planning or preparing for the future but to make sure our relationships with other people and with God are intact and the truly important things are not procrastinated.

I still am reeling over all the hype. The world was supposed to, according to them, come to an end on December 21, 2012. Here it is, January 11, 2013 and we still are here. I was not worried about the world ending because God has a plan for all of us, which would not be possible if we were going to perish. The people have been uprooted and buying things as if they are going to be able to take these things with them. Trust me, I think they need to get on their knees and thank God that He allowed them to live as long as they have. People have been predicting the possible end of the world for as long as they can remember. Get a grip on reality! If they want to become unglued and buy things they don't need, I am poor and deserving of some cash! Donate money to someone more deserving!

I don't think they are wasting their time preparing. Would venture to guess those people who experienced Sandy might have thought the world was ending. Having emergency supplies for an event, gives you an opportunity to have some water, food, flashlights, etc. to help get through some tough hours.

It's not a waste of time preparing for your family, and love once safety.. Its better to prepare now.

yes because its january 2013 and the world does not seem to be ending ...
