Do you bother typing correctly, correcting mistakes, using caps when appropriate, grammar, etc. when posting online (blogs, survey forums, social networking)? I sort of see it as an extension of texting and dont always. If it was a term paper i would definately approach it differently.
-
depends what i want to do at that particulur time. :)
-
i try to but sometimes i am in a hurry and just try to get it done and over with--i do thank goodness for spell check --best thing every
-
I usually do it right, or at least try, but I admit if I'm in a hurry it's not always correct.
-
Most of the time.
-
Sometimes I will copy and paste a post to my Micro-Sort Word. Then I'll do a spell check and copy/paste it back to fusion.
-
I try to do it well, but sometimes I don't care. It all depends if I'm tired or have the time to do it well. :star:
-
It depends on what I am typing. If it is important, of course I type correct. If it's chat, i dont type so correctly lol
-
I like to type correctly, but couple of time it will be an error because of an hurry :)
-
Yes, I try to correct any grammar mistakes when I am typing on the computer. I don't like when people misspell words and don't use proper punctuation. However, when I text on my phone, then I will use shortened words, like u, luv, 2day, etc.
-
For me it depends on the situation. Like you said, if doing a term paper or college online, then it's a no-brainer. But if your texting or in an informal chat room or blog, then it really doesn't matter.
-
I do try to type correctly, but there are some things I may do and not worry about using capital letters correctly.
-
I try to use proper language and spelling whenever I write anything because I feel that it is really, really easy to lose your language skills if you don't use them. My major problem has always been run on sentences. I once got a job and I think the only reason I was successful with the interviewer was that I was able to write a proper letter. It is a dying art though.
-
It depends on who my message is going to.
-
I use proper English when sending text messages.
-
Yes, I'm just in the habit of doing so.
-
sometimes I do :D
-
Yes, I'm just in the habit of doing so.
typing well yes, I do that every single day!!!
-
I do so whenever I can on everything even though I know it needs improvement. It becomes a habit. I wish I have an English teacher to proofread what I write & type.
-
I am a very experienced typist and make as few mistakes as possible. You can always use Spell Checker, but I don't know if there is a Spell Checker in this forum or on Fusion Cash period. I have always been a great speller, and still am, with or without Spell Checker. :) ;D :D
-
I have problems with typing/writing like I talk.
-
I do sometimes depending on the place I'm posting. At the very least I make sure everything is spelled correctly. I do hate to read forum posts that are in text speak, for some reason it wears my brain out!
-
It depends which form I'm typing to, but even though it's important, sometime's it still has mistakes. :sad1:
-
I'm a little old-fashion (or just old) :o and automatically use correct punctuation and caps. Do they call that OCD?
-
I always to try to type properly even I'm chatting with a person in an instant messenger. I try to make sure that use proper punctuation, capitalization and spelling, but some mistakes might get through on the instant messenger if I'm in a real hurry.
-
Yes, I try to type properly in forums, Facebook, texting (as space allows). I proofread and edit for a living, so I feel I kind of have to. LOL
-
I try to proof read what I type. I guess what I learned in school really stuck with me. I can spot a word that is not spelled correctly right away!
-
I try to do it right the first time. If I catch it I will correct it.
-
I try every time, just to practice. I :wave:t does look better.
-
I always try to write/type/text correctly. I hate misspellings and also poor punctuation. I love my husband but he is not a great speller.
-
I have been typing for many years. From old fashioned typewriters, Telex, IBM Selectric...and now, my favorite Internet keyboards. Yes! You can correct your spelling before printing or sending messages.
-
It really depends on the recipient. I don't usually capitalize and use punctuations, but I do try to spell words correctly
-
it sounds like fun as long we can do it at our own pace, and get credit for it.i'am willing to give it a try.
-
this is not serious stuff so it doesnt bother me if there are grammatical and punctuation errors. but when i do my school papers, i do it as properly as i can :dontknow:
-
I type properly on most forums.. slang sometimes if in a hurry.. I have taken typing lessons, but one habd I have a finger with the nail 1/2 off, and on my right hand I have started with a thing called trigger thumb, and that is really beginning to mix up my typing.. :crybaby2:
-
I am not a native speaker :) Sometimes, it is hard for me to use English correctly. I just try to minimize the mistakes. I usually reread it, and correct it because I dont want others misunderstand my meaning.
-
this is not serious stuff so it doesnt bother me if there are grammatical and punctuation errors. but when i do my school papers, i do it as properly as i can :dontknow:
that is basically how i am too
-
yea i agree that it depends on where the message is going. some people pay attention to it and some dont...
-
nope not when im testing and not any where unless it is for a professional reason
-
For the most part I try to use proper sentences when I post on forums, and mostly on text messages too. I will use some common text expressions, such as, LOL, IMO, etc. those that are generally known acronyms.
I've read some posts that are so choppy with "text speak" that I need a cryptographer to interpret.
-
I think it's okay to be less formal when typing online, but I try to pay attention to spelling and clarity still. If the text is too sloppy or uses too many acronyms it can really be annoying.
-
I personally think it's just better to use correct/near-correct grammar and spelling anytime there's potential for a large number of people to see whatever you posted. It's not like it takes that much more time to write out.
-
It doesnt matter how it is stated. Grammar errors etc. It is how you get your point across. Some of the most mixed up things even come out better.
-
It would help if everybody would pay attention to their spelling. If this would be the case there would be some chance for those who still have to learn a lot. The way it is now we see the mistakes all the time and it seems that they are there to stay. :dontknow:
-
i like to type it be neat to have some typing offers on FC most likely would see it in the task
but it would be nice and fun
-
I'm a website editor so it's something that has become a habit. I usually strive for perfection anyway and like to do most things to the best of my ability.
-
Today I Am Typing With Capital Letters And Correct Spelling. Only Some days I Get
Lazi Lazy
-
I usually try to spell correctly, but I hate that now if I am not typing on my phone I automatically assume the computer is going to capitalize my Is and proper nouns. Or that a misspelled word is magically going to correct itself. It's funny how fast you can become lazy and used to something else doing the work for you.
-
Yes, always. I think most people who leave their posts laden with errors must not have been paying attention in elementary school English class.
-
It depends where and who am I writing to, but for the most part, I try to be the most grammatically correct I can be; granted it might not be correct all the time. Sometimes, persons who give a good effort to try and make good use of punctuation, grammar and such, may be perceived as pretentious, when in reality they are just trying to express themselves correctly. That is not to say that there aren't pretentious people trying to appear to be better than the rest, and there is where the confusion arises. Personally, I try to detect the tone of the writing, if it seems to me, the is some overly and unnecessary use of a patronizing or condescending tone, then it might just be somebody trying to belittle people, or just somebody with a false sense of grandiosity. Well, I think I'm going off topic a little bit here, but to summarize, in terms of typing (not texting), I almost always try to do it as properly as I can.
-
I learned to type in school before computers were popular. So it is something I try not to make mistakes with, but I still do.
-
I try to. It is a good habit to get into even if it does slow me down.
-

I always try to correct my spelling and spaces between words. Most of the time I reread before posting and make sure it makes before I hit the button. I believe that people will just think I am not too smart if I leave a bunch of spelling errors and write something that does not make sense, or leave words out that they have to decipher. I always try to do my best in everything, even if it takes a little more time.

I am not too bad at typing on a computer. As for on a cell forget it. I cant even do speech to text. Some of the things come off of that are hilarious.
-
When I am typing, I try to use correct grammar, spelling and punctuation. Without using correct English, when I type, it makes it slows down the reader and makes it difficult to understand what I have written.
-
I was a secretary for several years so just by nature, I always try to type correctly and correct any mistakes before posting.

(http://i199.photobucket.com/albums/aa239/HappySmith52/boyhack.gif) Please forgive me, I'm not trying to be pretentious and/or trying to appear better than anyone else...but (yeppers; always a but...lol)... It really does bug me when I read a post/thread with NO punctuation and misuse of grammar...[Not that mine is the best] I have told myself "they are from another country"... Then-again in the short time I've been here (around 6 months), I have gotten to know some (if not most) of us are here in the Good-Ol-USA...
(http://i199.photobucket.com/albums/aa239/HappySmith52/Wierd.gif) It drives me crazy-coo-coo when I try to understand what the person is saying; Like "i thought i'd post on here just so as to put youcan understand what is i'm saying"... Sure, We can understand this but (again dang-it) I need to read it 3 (sometimes 4) times to fully comprehend.
Sorry if this has put you to (http://i199.photobucket.com/albums/aa239/HappySmith52/Desk.gif)
To those of you that have gotten to know me... Know I like my pictures & icons. (http://i199.photobucket.com/albums/aa239/HappySmith52/pagehome.gif)

-
Well, for me this is an interesting subject. Especially as to why it bugs some people that the typing or the wording is not correct. I just love the fact that whomever it is, that is not typing correctly and without the right grammar does not lead you to not accepting human nature, ignorance, and or people that or just learning. This is a great world and forumand not usig correction putncioan marks, makes me think this is happy that wer a rar happy, so ther. Well I have had my fun, have yours reading and correcitn my grammar and punciton marks. I need an a to or is that an A to graduate. And yes, some people are a little should I say pompus, or is that poumpus. or full of them selves
-
Yes, I always do. Sure, I have typo's every now and again, but I do use my education, anywhere. I think it is important to show yourself in your best light. You know what they say... If you don't use it, you lose it! LOL:) :icon_rr:
-
I do so whenever I can on everything even though I know it needs improvement. It becomes a habit. I wish I have an English teacher to proofread what I write & type.
I think you are doing nicely:) :icon_rr:
-
Here is a big hug, for every one, good typist are not. At least you are trying and you do get your message or point across. FusionCash members a forgiving family keep on trucking love you guys'
-
Yes I love to type, Itype very fast, I can type 60 words in one minute. I do have trouble with grammer, But its always good to study no matter what age you are.
-
I try to type correct so everyone will understand what im saying wrong spelling they
may not understand what im talking about that one word to me matters as i would
like everyone to do this.
-
well this new computer of mine likes to tell me if I have spelled something wrong. will capital the word I for me and under lines words that I have spelled wrong. I have to choose whether or not I want to correct it and those red lines bug the hell outta me
-
Old habits die hard. I usually use capitals and punctuation.
-
I agree with that statement it doesn't seem like proper equitick is nessessary typing on electronics today
-
Most of the time. I transcribe for a living so it seems second-nature to do so though it is easy to overlook your own typing errors.
-
When I type I prefer to use proper grammer and I hate misspelled words. As long as I can correctmy errors after I finish typing I do not have a problem with typing.
-
Well, I hope some of you do not take it personally, if you see misspelled words, or grammar errors. At least until you know where that particular person is coming from. Not all on this site has had the advantage of a proper education. Not all have even had typing lessons, and had to learn how to type on their own. Not all are born are raised here in the USA, but have coveted our freedom. Not all. So, why get upset, just enjoy, love you guys at FusionCash, may tomorrow be profitable one step at a time.
-
Of course for work I am a perfectionist but I have been catching myself in chat lately just sort of skipping the formalities.
-
I am always looking to improve my typing speed, so yes, I do pay attention to what i'm doing when i'm typing, including form, and how many mistakes i'm making.
-
I try to check my typing words when I type.
-
Always. I always try to use proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation. My dad has a Master's degree in English, so he always drilled it into me and it stuck.
-
My typing is slow. Don't know how to improve my typing. :(
-
My grammar police almost always kicks in. I get paid to proofread for a living and have an English degree. Quite the perfectionist here.
-
Yes. I always try to use proper grammar and punctuation, even when I text. I never use the abbreviations like "lol". In fact, I have never used "lol".
-
I only correct things if I have time but most of the time I just type and I don't really worry about correct grammar.
-
I do to a certain degree. I at least want what I write to look decent. And somehow I have a spellchecker that helps me on some of these sites. I don't know how it got that way but it is.
-
I usually try to do everything properly, but it depends on the site and who I'm talking to.
-
i try to use proper english and grammer and punctuation but it doesnt always work when im in a hurry so mistakes slip in i dont like the text language or maybe its because im too old fashioned to understand it
-
I try to type things right the 1st time because I type so slow I don't really have time to go back and correct things.
-
during posting or texting i dont worry but during work email i do make sure to use it.
-
during posting or texting i dont worry but during work email i do make sure to use it.
I try to catch and correct my errors prior to "sending" It doesn't always work out though because sometimes I'm in too much of a hurry and don't catch the errors until just at the moment I've hit the "send" button.
-
I like everything to be typed correctly and accurately. I try my best to read over everything before I hit that enter key.
-
I try to mostly.
