Title: I'm at 170lbs.
Post by: anotherlaujgirl on February 04, 2013, 06:16:23 pm

Like I tell my sister.

Sharing my weight to the world gets me started and committed.

I do not have much to say about this one.  If you are happy with your weight more power to you.

I'm 140. I was bouncing back and forth between 165 and 170 when I started my weight loss journey March 14, 2012. I'm 5'2". My original weight goal was 145 then I changed it to 135 and now it's 130. I'm taking a break from working out right now because I'd been overtraining, which is very unhealthy.  Have you tried:

*visionary motivation (taping a pic of someone with the body you want to your fridge)
*calorie counting
*drinking more water
*walking daily
*food substitution (replacing ice cream with yogurt or fried chicken with baked fish and so on)
*forming a weight loss support group
*chilling out- sometimes we make things harder than they have to be :)

Just a few tips, hope this helps!

I went from 155 to 125 last year... whatever your goal is it's completely plausible. I know you can do it!

I have been trying to lose weight, but it's not going well because I admit I haven't been eating as well. I hope to improve in this area.

More power to you since you are trying to lose weight. I know how difficult that can be and hope you can get to your target weight soon.

I joined Weight Watchers and have lost 35 pounds.  I'm really at my ideal weight now, but I think I'll try for another 5 pounds.  Weight Watchers is great, go to the weekly meetings, get ideas, and most importantly you can eat whatever you want (in moderation of course), but as our leader says never deprive yourself, if you want pizza, cake, etc eat it!  Honestly i'm not hungry on it either.

I wish you luck in your quest to lose weight. I've just jumped onto the scale and realized that I've gained over the Christmas holidays and really pigged out during the Superbowl! Ugh! I've got to lose 10lbs in the next month! Thanks for the great tips from the previous members!

I am embarrassed of mine. My weight has gone up and up. They said it is between my bp meds and my uneractive thyroid. They said once they get it stabilized the weight will come off. Just like the standard joke pch is coming to my house.

To all the people on here who has lost weight GOOD FOR YOU!!!!  I had been wanting to lose weight especially after my last baby but guess what?????   I'm pregnant AGAIN so I don't know what I'm gonna do.  I'm trying really hard not to give into my cravings but it is not working.  I try to substitute something else in place of my craving but did anyone one know that the craving is only going to go away when you satisfy it, ugh!!!!  I really hope that I don't gain as much weight with this baby like I did the last because man was I huge!!!  I hadn't even gotten all of that weight off yet now here comes another one.  Boy oh boy, but I am grateful.  I hope that this baby is as health as the others!! (lol)

I was 225 lbs but now I am 185 lbs. I seem to be holding steady at this weight. Not sure how hard it will be to lose even more. I would love to be down to 170 lbs.

170 is actually my goal weight.  I've been doing pretty well doing exercise I actually enjoy and eating foods in moderation and tracking everything I eat.

Entirely avoid or eliminate junk food! Create a reasonable menu just for you. Exercise daily, drink plenty of water and sleep enough every day.

I JUST broke my 140 plateau. I'd been that weight for over 3 months and I've been eating under 1200 calories and working out like crazy so it was very discouraging.  I weighed in at 138 day before yesterday.  I've been on a workout break for about 5 days now. I think I'd started to gain muscle.  Since I eat whatever I want and just don't go over my 1200 cals a day I've been eating around 1K calories during my workout break, but I allow myself more for healthier foods. Somehow you need to shock your body to break that plateau or just keep at it and wait it out.

the weight cant say anything as long as you have a good health and match with your height.
I am an Asian, so i think I am a little bit tiny. I just weight around 100. I need some extra 5-10 pounds

How do you shock your body to break the plateau.I have been 151pounds for more than three months, and I am eating right, exercising, but still the weight is the same. I used to be 168 pounds, and my goal weight is 135 pounds, and I have to lose 16 pounds for that. Any ideas?

I think you need to do something different.  A workout break worked for me. Doing different exercises work out too but it'll be a few months before I can get my bike and I'm not buying a gym membership (very frugal with my money lol).  Also try eating more or less than your body has become accustomed to.  Also try fiber or a colon cleanse. Check and make sure you're not eating more than you think you are- 1 serving is 1 serving. I use to allow myself 1 cheat day per week and I would pig OUT even past my full point. I would end up recording over 3K calories in my food journals for my food days. I've come to realize cheat days set you back not just with weight but also in overall health. One of my favorite youtube health gurus suggested not depriving yourself so much so it doesn't feel like a diet- best advice ever.  Is there a licensed nutrition/fitness expert in the house that could help us out? These are just things that have been working for me, our bodies may not react the same, but I'm always open to new suggestions not only for losing weight but also for living a healthy lifestyle.

I am running over 225+, do not wish to say more. I am going to start eating less meat, sugar, processed food to get my weight down. It seems that it is a hard road to travel.

It is discouraging  :- but just keep at it and it will break.  I read a quote somewhere that says small steps beats standing still when you have somewhere you want to go.

I used to be 120 lbs but after 2 kids my weight started slowing increasing and next thing I knew I was at 160.  I never did really get the weight off after our last daughter but I was 40 when I had her and think that age probably had something to do with it.  Anyway, one of my sisters lost about 50 lbs with weight watchers and even though I did not join I started watching points and have lost 20 lbs.  I'd love to lose another 20 but since I keep my grandkids I can't really get a good walking routine going so don't know if that will be possible.  I have a treadmill but just can't stay motivated to use it like I used to.  Anyway ladies, get it off while you're young cause the older you get, the harder it is to get it off and keep it off.  That's the advice I give our girls too.  Good luck to all who are trying to drop some lbs.
