We had one here in Missouri back in the late 70's I do believe, I remember the icicles stuck on the streets, no one would go out or come in. no school that was the fun part, and family time was awesome.

It has been almost 2 years where I live in Minnesota, since we had major amounts
of snow in the winter.

I'm from the south and I only see blizzards on tv or the internet.....I would love to go to a nice snowy place and spend a week in some real snow....I hear the coldness and the air are different than here in Georgia....

A few years ago few had a winter with 3 snow falls with 2ft of snow. I have to give credit to our township. Since shortly after the snow stopped, the plows were out and the roads were clear.Of course there was snow everywhere.

I'm from the South also and very seldom see that much snow. One Easter they did come through and close the rural road I live on.

Living in Colorado, we always made sure that the pantry and freezer were well stocked and that we had lots of firewood in case the power did go out for any length of time.  We also had snow mobiles, so if there was an emergency we could get in to town.   But I used to enjoy those times when for a day or so we had to stay home.  A few times it was 3 or 4 days, but usually just one.  We lived in Southern Colorado near the Telluride ski resort.
