I just started replenishing our hurricane supply kit for the season.  I find if i start early, it is all ready by the time hurricane season starts.

:bunny: :notworthy:yes it is a good idea to make a survival kit for you and your family with the weather you never know what might happen so its good to have extra water supplies and canned foods just in case along with flashlights, matches, first aid kits extra blankets and always have at least half a tank of gas in case you need to evacuate your city/town. and have a radio and batteries. Main things are bottled water and food, extra clothes  but with all that the us has been through you never know what might happen so yes its good to have some emergency supplies.Bottled water a must.

Primary concern here in Cali is earthquakes. I have a 2.5 gal drinking water that I have had in refrig in garage for over 10 years now. (Refrig isn't kept on just used for dry storage.) Also would have water from water heater. I would use water from hot tub for replenishing toilets or bathing. Also have camping stoves and a lot of butane lighters available.

I regret to say that I am not at all prepared. I guess I should get a survival kit together before disaster strikes. We are kind of spoiled in upstate NY, at least in recent years. We haven't gotten any really bad snowstorms. And of course we are not in a high risk area for hurricanes or tornadoes. So I guess I never really think of having a survival kit.
