Title: Gun laws
Post by: delsley on February 17, 2013, 04:25:58 pm
What do you think on the gun laws ? I know right now gun permits are up and sales of guns and ammo is crazy. I've tried to buy .22 ammo here in NE Indiana and they are sold out before they get a new load in even.

I believe it is your right to on one if you are not a feloney, mentaly ill or illeagal.  also know in our state if you are a dead beat father and owe child support you cannot buy a gun, get a fishing  or hunting lic. It is called it you want pay you can't play.

All states should be like that. I'm not sure if the law is like that where I live.

I think that the gun laws that we have in place are fine.  Monitoring crazy people could go a little farther. Heck if we can stomp on everyone's civil rights with TSA and home security laws why don't we just consider everyone crazy and subject them to mental competency reviews.  Better yet...lets start with politicians-we could shut down half of the senate/congress because I don't think that any of the lying skunks are sane.  If we take real guns away from law abiding citizens that will limit the use to crooks,  seventy five percent of the police(they get a gun allowance which most of them need just to help with their meager pay checks) and half of the military (we don't arm our military well enough to do their job-some aren't even given kevlar vests for combat). And stopping dead beat dads from hunting and fishing?  I have ran into five 'fathers': one paying child support but the state messed up their accounting, on who is paying for a child that isn't his, one who has watched his wife squander the money on everything but the children, one who has to take out a home equity loan until his end of the year bonus comes in, and one who can't afford to live on his own without supplementing his  grocery bills by hunting illegally.  Yes there are a lot of bad fathers/mothers out there but there are innocents that are penalized because of this.

The Constitution should never be violated or amended to take away the right bear arms. When the goverment convince us to let them take our guns away, then Russia will invade us. This have been their dream for decades.

If today's politicians believe they know what is best for the public (haha!  And sadly they do), then they should seek to amend the Constitution.  If it is such an issue of common sense as they portray it to be, then let them try and eliminate the 2nd Amendment and see how that works out for them.

Our government has violated the Constitution in countless ways.  They believe that it will be too difficult to amend, so they try and skirt around it in countless ways.  Unfortunately, I think most politicians see our Constitution as something they have to work around rather than a document that rightly restrains and enumerates their powers.

Certainly this present administration despises the Constitution and does everything in it's power to work around it so as to gain more power and control over the people of this country.  The right to bear arms should not be taken away from us.

[sarcasm] I think it makes a ton of sense to take guns away from law abiding citizens. The government knows what is best for the people and will never take advantage of its citizens- so they do not need to bare arms to prevent tyranny. Lawless people will put guns away as soon as law abiding citizens are unarmed. [/sarcasm]See attached image

That's true, both with democrats and republicans. They have a totally wrong concept of the type of country this was intended to be.
Gun control is certainly not the answer to the violent crime problem. Gun bans haven't worked in the past, and they certainly won't work again. Even Joe Biden admitted that they would have no effect on stopping another mass murder. here in NY state we now have the worst gun laws in the country, and there hasn't been a reduction in crime even in our upstate area.

This is just another Government power Grab! The Politicians love to believe they have the power to do what ever they want. "We the People" need to start telling them enough is enough! It seems the first few years politicians really believe they can make a change for their constituents but, then they arrive in Washington DC and really see what they can't do!!And go along with the system their. I Worked in and around DC and believe me we do need a "two term" limit on all politicians because they really don't need to make this a career, that just makes them corrupt!!

I think that certain gun laws should be in effect throughout the country.  Restricting the sale of firearms is common sense, not oppression.  For example, in my state (NJ), there are background checks and if you've ever had psychiatric problems or been convicted of a violent crime, you cannot buy a gun.  Just one state over (PA) I've heard there are no checks of any kind.

When the government and the criminals give up their guns, I'll give up mine!

They will have to kill me before they take my guns away unless they want to pay me $2,000,000 and some.

We have enough gun control!  All we need is idiot control!  When they come to states like Georgia, Texas, Tennessee, Alabama, North and South Carolina and try to take peoples guns, you might as well go ahead and say that the next American Revolution will begin.
