The white house recently cancelled their tours, even though it is the people house, this is to save money, yet they are going ahead with their anual easter egg role, do you think they should of done this?

I don't think Obama has ever made an intelligent decision. Or should I say LOGICAL. He can spend billions on vacations but cant spend 30,000 a month to allow people to tour a national landmark? His spending decisions are foolish.

I don't think they should have cancelled the tours but lately it seems to me that Washington cares less and less about what is important to the people and more about what is important to their corporate interests. I think it's a conflict of interest for people who are heavily invested in the stock market to hold office because they will always vote for their interests instead of the interests of the common man.

if you don't have anyone to conduct the tours, you don't have many options :dontknow:

At this point in the governments debt situation and anything that is going to save money is the best option. The tours are great for individuals to get the experience to see and learn hands on about the presidents and the white house. So their decision is best for their budget.

I think they need to do away with all the extra perks Congress & the White House gets entitled to for doing such a "great" job for the American people ~ NOT!
-
If really needed, I guess the hours for tours could be reduced but really it should be available because as voters and citizens we should have some rights to view important areas of our government at work. I don't think cancelling the tours all together was a good idea.

It was all done for politics. Obama wants to make the Republicans look bad, so he is purposely cutting things that will directly affect the American people, or things that are in the public eye. Never mind the fraud and waste in many of the departments that should be cut! (but of course, since he is the one who chooses what gets cut, he's actually making himself look bad!)

This is not a good thing to do. Cancelling the WH tours is a political game ploy by the Dems. When will America wake up and see this man for the anti-american that he truly is.
-
Don't get me started! Yeah lets go ahead with the Easter Egg roll but furlough our military members! Hmmm well we now see what is more important to our U.S. Government don't we????
-
I think there certainly is another cut that can be made instead of the tours. The experience of visiting the white house is so valuable for all the young people whose schools take DC trips.

i do not think the tours shoud be cancelled. There are a lot of perks including the obamas vacations. After hearing this morning on hw much they spent since he has been in office. I know everyone would like to have a vacation, but come on this country is hurting and he is playing. And all the perks and pork barrel spending going on must quit. My feelings are he will go down in history as the pres. who destroyed our country.

Cancelling the White House tours saves no money at all. The tours are led by volunteers and the Secret Service people are still being paid whether they're doing the tours or not. It's all a political stunt by Obama.
-
It's just choosing to cut stuff that makes a big impact visually not budget wise. If the president was serious about working on our budget problems he'd start with his own staff and expenses to set an example.
-
It does not make any sense because tourists spend thousands of dollars as tourists.
-
the white house should be the one cutting money pay ete
-
Absolutely not!!!! It's a part of education for at least thousands of people a year!!! I went there on a 5th grade field trip and our school had us sell candy and do things to raise money for the trip it's not like the tours are free or anything; but being there was a very memorable experience for me and I think as American's it's someone everyone should experience at least once in their lives.

I personally feel that he has does not care for the best interests of the people. He is demoralizing. It's a shame that the people who voted for him
were taken in a second time. He is a charmer and that is all. It takes more than charm to run a country. It takes brains, common sense and logic to run a country.
I am not sure how many of those qualities he possesses.

i think they should cancel tours for now because every little but helps but we all need a bit of fun so im okay with the easter egg hunt. as far as their vacations go i think they should hav more stacations and he needs to make better decisions i was not able to vote this year this is the first time i havent voted i usuallysay if you didnt vote you can not complain but i have to admit i was very surprised that he was voted in for a 2nd term
