Title: house insurance

i just dont get it...i bought my house twenty years ago   at the same time i bought insurance and have never let it lapse never filed any other claim in the whole twenty years it had a good roof...now the roof needs to be replaced.. so instead of helping me they have decided to tell me that my roof is no longer covered by my insurance... if i hadnt been paying for the insurance for my house i could afford a new roof.. i dont know it doesnt seem fair

Unfortunately insurance is one of those things that if you didnt have it some much worse would have happened and since you do have it it does you no good!

I always thought insurance was just for fire and theft or maybe damage caused by something. In ca earthquake insurance is out there but way to expensive.It is also like car insurance,when you do use it the premiums go way up for awhile my daughter found that out.

I have to agree, I thought insurance was just in case if something happened, fire, flood, etc.  not for home repairs.
