Title: I have to verify my identity?

Hi everyone. I got an email from FC saying that they detected unusual activity from my account and I need to fax them something proving I am who I say I am. Has this happened to anyone else? I could not reply to the email, so I have no clue what I could have done? Any help would be appreciated.

It's good to be wary of scams/phishing.  However, that particular email is legitimate.  We do sometimes require additional information as stated in the Terms of Service, section IV.F: "Information Request. Occasionally, a cashout may be delayed due to the necessity of processing an IRS Form W-9 or an identity verification. In these cases, users can typically expect payment to be submitted within 10 business days of our receipt of the items, however, check payments may take up to 60 days to process in these cases. "

I have never had it happen to me, but if I were you, I would contact FC to see if they in fact contacted me for additional information.

That did not happen to me yet,but thanks for posting that.I learn a lot, incase it will happen to me in the future i know what to do. Or at least I`m aware of it now.

No that is something to really be worried about, when you get on the site are you in a public place? or do you leave your page u to where someone can access it, because what I noticed is that if it is left open it i still active.  So just remember to check behind yourself especially when using other computers.

A hacker could go through your contact list and send you a bogus email from any saved email address. It's scary that hackers exist and their methods are quite amazing & smart. Most of the time, you may not even know that your email was hacked into.  :confused1:  I would suggest that you open a Support Ticket and ask Admin/Staff if they really sent you that message.  :wave:

It is for real (as admin said). I have also had to do this.

Hi Cuppycake, once you verified your identity, did they tell you why they needed the information? Like what you had done to make them suspicious? I'm so confused!

I have gotten the same notice from another company on my first payment and it sucks to work your but off and then they hold a payment...   If posible just do what they ask with the identification .. I guess survey companies just want to make sure that you are willing to put effort before they are willing to pay..

that happened to a girl i know she had her account closed soo be very careful i could of been hacked  as someone wrote always have to verify to make sure u are u :thumbsup:

I've never had that happen too me. Had to verify once to do a liquor survey on another site, and a couple of times on vides for liquor. Ohter then that never.

WOW!  Never had that happen.  I would worry about that and wonder if it has a virus attached to it or something.  I opened and email once from something that I did not reconginize and bam, a  nasty virus.  Hoping you can get this settled without having any major problems.   :thumbsup:

I would not provide any info.  I have never had them ask for identity info.  Sounds pretty suspicious to me.

Have never had this happen to me. Sounds weird to me.
