i hate when i can't fall a sleep i took some pm tablets but there not doing anything so i have been reading and cleaning hope fully this will make me tired enough to fall a sleep
-
I suffered from insomnia last night....it was hard to drift off and I kept waking up it has been a while since that happened....but it usually pasts and I drift off....
-
I have taken melatonin or valerian root to help with going back to sleep at night. It works a lot of the time for me.
-
I use CVS sleep aids and they work pretty well if you use them only once or twice a week. If you use them everyday for some reason they just don't work at all. :dontknow:
-
I hate nights like those. I think we all have them at one time. I don't take anything, just try reading or watching TV, usually works for me.
-
Yeah I have had many nights like this recently. I have gotten into a bad sleeping pattern where I don't go to sleep until around 3 in the morning. It puts me in a mood but it is the only time I can fall asleep. It's like a vicious cycle.
-
When I can't seem to fall asleep I lay in my bed thinking of the good-old-days or reflecting back on my childhood friends and the things we used to do. Sometimes this helps me fall asleep.
-
I do have the same problem, too. I know mine, however, is because I spent a majority of my life working third shift and now I am paying for it. I cannot regulate myself out now no matter how I try. I hate laying in the bed tossing and turning, so I always inevitably am back up, tiring out somewhere around 7 or 8 when everyone else is starting their day. It is so frustrating!

I suffer from insomnia all the time; and, I have tried everything! Any sure fire suggestions? I am desperate! :'(

I heard that counting backwards will help you fall asleep. I trying starting at 1,000 and count back, but it's boring (lol) but let me know if it works.
-
I have been like that before and not including today. I am tried but can't fall a sleep like but when I was a kid my parents use to say count sheep and the other night I did that lol and before you know it I heard my alarm clock. So sometimes taking medication don't help just be bored.

I have trouble getting to sleep almost every night. I think my problem is the number of prescription medications I take. I will get so sleepy during the day and take a nap. Then I can't get to sleep at night. Almost all the meds I take say "May cause drowsiness" on the bottle. I wish I could reset me sleeping patterns.
-
That has been happening to me the past few nights. It's frustrating. I feel tired enough to where I think as soon as I hit the pillow I'll be out. But it's just the opposite.
-
It is an everyday occurence for me, I will switch my hours around to get up early sunday morning stay up all day and be fine but then sunday night I will be up for almost 24 hours, something with night time and me, I don't like day time
-
Me too cant sleep last night because my pug snores so loud. Headache this morning.

I know how you feel. I have felt really tired lately and have had a hard time getting to sleep. It takes a long time to get to sleep. The melatonin help some and I am trying some new medications, but it was recommended that I see a sleep specialist to rule out sleep apnea. She said a lot of people have that disorder and it causes people not to feel well rested. If you continue to feel poorly with your sleep and can see one you might one to see a sleep specialist just to see if anything is going on. :dog:

I guess this is just one of those things that happens to all of us. Fortunately it doesn't happen to me too often though. When it does I just watch tv, read, or play Sudoku until I fall asleep.
-
What I have noticed in my years well later years but I am also thin too but if I get up and eat something then I will fall right to sleep but also I will work on some finding words puzzle's which relaxes me also.
-
I too, have those sleepless nights. I am so tired and so sure I can drop right off to sleep, and it seems when my head hits the pillow, my eyes pop open. Sometimes I take Tylenol and it seems to relax me so I can sleep, othertimes I just lay there and eventually I fall asleep.
-
Try exercising lightly before sleep, like taking a night job, and also lay off the sugar, caffeine or stimulants for at least one day. I would also do some meditation and then finally take a benadryl if all else fails, that knocks me out quickly.
-
i say eat... even if its just fruit or yogurt or a bowl of cereal... or a bowl of ice cream. It helps to relax you

I have been having trouble sleepy here lately! Its like my mind wont shut off....I am constantly thinking about things that I need to do, bills, kids, etc. I took a Melatonin last night and slept much better...It doesnt leave me feeling sleepy and groggy the next day!
-
I have had nights like that. But I never took anything to make me sleep. Since I am diabetic, what I used to do was eat something like a doughnut or some cookies and that put me right out. I know I should have never done that.
-
I usually don't have a problem falling asleep.
I work odd hours so I'm usually tired enough that I'm out when my head hits the pillow.
-
I have heard about counting me personaly haven't tried it.
-
I do this often, I stay up and then I am up so long that I can't go to sleep at all, sometimes up for 30 hours. Try doing 15-30 minutes of exercise or soaking in a warm tub
