which is better for you, wheat or white bread? some people say wheat bread is healthier than white bread
-
Who knows anymore!! There are people that are saying that Wheat is not good for you because it has gluten and gluten is not all that good for you! I don't know if this is like the Milk thing years ago or the Eggs soon thereafter. I do prefer white bread to wheat bread myself because wheat bread sought of fills me up fast where white bread does not. I don't check the gluten in either one of the breads because you would go crazy trying to keep up with all these items that are so called bad for you!!

I like wheat bread. I have no problems with white bread either, but I prefer wheat bread. As long as it is not rye bread. I don't like any kind of rye bread. It leaves a funny taste in my mouth.

I eat both but I find myself liking wheat bread more because it is healthy for you and I also like the taste. I sometimes might get the white wheat bread if I want wheat instead of white
-
I agree that wheat bread is better for you than white bread, unless you get white wheat bread. White wheat offers you the best to two worlds: white and wheat bread.
-
I'd rather have whole wheat. It's less processed than white so it's better for you/me. :)
-
It all depends on what you body can process easier. Me I prefer white bread.
-
I buy both. Usually the white bread runs out faster than wheat. After there is no white bread, I eat wheat bread.
-
Whole wheat bread is definitely healthier because it's less processed and has the whole wheat berry. I have a bread machine so I make my own. I also like rye and pumpernickel. They're even healthier. Of course they fill you up because they have more fiber. They're also lower on the glycemic index so they don't turn to sugar in your blood stream as fast.
Personally I don't worry about gluten. If you think you have a sensitivity to it you can avoid it. Dr Oz has some good information about how to deal with it. There's one plan that allows you to detox from these things then add them back in.

I happen to know that white bread is better for your health.
-
Eikorn wheat bread is best for you, so far you have to make it yourself
-
I believe that wheat bread is healthier for you however, nothing hits the spot like a bologna sandwhich with ketchup on white bread. It's an American tradition...and so delicious!

I've heard that wheat bread is better for your health, but I must admit I prefer the taste of white bread and epecially that of Wonder. I rarely eat wheat bread and don't at all like the taste of whole grain even though it's supposed to be healthier for you. (I guess I just don't like the healthier food like most people since a lot of them don't taste as good as the junk. :D) My grandmother bought a good split top wheat bread that I really liked years ago, but I can't remember the brand. I will eat Sara Lee's honey wheat also.

like white better just taste better to me
-
I like white bread, but wheat breads have more nutrition
-
Wheat bread has a lot of nutrition as opposed to white bread... White breads are usually bleached (remove the natural oils of the wheat grain) to have longer shelf life but less nutritional value than wheat
-
It doesn't matter to me, either bread is fine with me.
-
I have always heard that wheat bread is better for you thank white break. I like the Nature's Own White Wheat Bread. It does not go bad as quick as some bread does.
-
if it's a whole grain wheat bread then they say it's healthier for you but who really knows. It seems like everytime they tell us something a few weeks later they say something different.
-
Fiber content is considerably higher in wholewheat breads and other whole grain breads are even higher. This is what the 'health' issue is about. Now we have gluten to hear about and though some have a sensitivity to it and just can't tolerate it, the more I hear about it indicates that the 'gluten scare' is more hype than reality.
I like the white/wheat breads but I really favor pumpernickle varieties.
