??? I am curious about something. I have a feeliiiiing that the planet is out of orbit. We are getting thunderstorms in the spring season. It does not sound natural to me.

If the planet were out of orbit, you can bet we would be experiencing more than just additional thunderstorms. But I'll admit the weather has been odd.

According to the rhyme, it's March winds, April showers will bring May flowers....Thunderstorms in the spring is completely normal and expected. The lack of them in recent years was more abnormal. I know in my area anytime from April through mid-summer (July/Aug) are prime thunderstorm months - more so in the earlier months (late April - early June).
For me, it's the first time in a while that I'm feeling that the weather is "normal" around here.

I don't know if the planet is out of orbit, but the weather has been wacky. This might just be global warming.
-
I don't know about that but I sure do belive it may be global warming. Which is a big concern today in the sciences

I am not a science person per se but I agree with the rest of the people responding to this. The weather is a little bit strange with the tornado, tsunamis, hurricanes, and even still colder this time of year. Last week was so hot and humid in the 90s and now it is snowing and cold. I think the weather is bipolar. Don't know if there's a science word it.

Well, just how long have we humans been keep accurate accounts of weather? In the span of time the planet has existed, regardless of the Biblical account of about 6000 years or the quantum theories that say 'billions and billions' of years, we have recorded weather history in detail for about 10 seconds! Think of that... we really have not a clue of what is really 'normal' in weather. That is to say 'computer models' that practically all the predictions are based on are really based on far less than 'good input'.
In the 70's we were told we would have a new ice age in about 20 years, today the gurus that have been hollering about 'global warming' are befuddled that the Earth's temperature has acutally averaged -2°C since 1992!! DUH!? Understand this, no one can predict weather, we can garner and predict with some degree of accuracy of what might happen in the very short term by looking at what is happening now, i.e. warm and cold fronts and such but that is about it.
There are far to many variables, solar flares to be specific for one, that have HUGE effects on the weather of this globe that no one can predict.
Is it unusual for the earth to have this current pattern of weather? We simply and honestly HAVE NO IDEA!
;D

I agree, humans have not been around to record the weather patterns long enough. But from our stand of a few decades the weather does seem a little strange. But in the overall stream of things it might just be normal.

So I've gotta ask since this supposed to be a scientific discussion. Wacky weather can not only be blamed on global warming (polar Bears are losing their feeding and breeding grounds) but also to Solar Flares. About every 11yrs, solar flares reach a peak and not only do you get wacky weather but you also get more valcanic erupations, earthquakes and tremors where normally there are none, some hellish tornado's (sorry OK for being tornado alley) and some freakish thunderboomers with colorful lightning. NASA has a great video (for those of you that have that option on cable) that goes into detail about it. And I think there are also some good video's floating around YouTube. All Right, there are my 2 cents for tonight. Sleep well and enjoy Mother Nature's light show when she start tossing around the lightning. What I wouldn't give to live on the river right now. Spent most of my teens and adulthood watching lightning play on the water (river's) in FL the lightning capital of the US :cat:

I doubt that causes thunderstorms, most likely that is caused because the earth is created of people who wouldn't listen to God and now the ruler of the earth satan likes to disrupt peace

Yeah, Odin is angry with all you non-believers.

It must be the Energy from outer space hitting our planet in places giving us the storm.

i'll agree on the weather being weird and we do have much more heat in florida now than before and in winter it gets cold'er though it also is weird to me on how everything is happening too fast or like the sun seem close than i thought :dontknow:
