Just finished planting the garden today. Picked our first strawberries (yum!) and will have blueberries and raspberries soon. I planted corn, beans, peas, brocolli, tomatoes, peppers, onions and leeks. What is everyone else growing? How big is your garden?

:wave:I too have a flower garden...but no roses (kinda wish I did)... I need to grow everything in pots and wheelbarrows due to the fact that the critters get to them if I plant in my yard... They're s some coming up but I will have [flowers] thur-out the summer months... I also have cactus that bloom (they get as big as a Sunflower...beautiful).
P.S. Just to let ya know; I live on the Central Coast of California.

My tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers are doing great. Have already harvested some artichocks and they were good. The rest i will buy at the farmers market. I used to grow a lot but will support them. It is easier on my old body. Besides there are tmes i just don't have the time for all of it.

This is the first year for our 6x9 greenhouse, and inside of it we have tomatoes (a few different varieties), squash, beans, herbs, lettuce. We usually start seeds in the garage but the greenhouse is by far better! This coming weekend (and the days after) are supposed to be warm (upper 70s) and we may move those things into the ground.

We haven't been able to plant a garden we have had so much rain we cant get in it.

I planted my first garden last week. I have a couple new blackberry bushes and a raspberry bush. A couple starter strawberry plants. And seed planted cucumbers, carrots, lettuce, zucchini, onions and beans. I should know in a week or two if anything is going to come up.
The raspberry bush, one of the blackberry bushes and the strawberry plans look like they are taking to the garden and seem to be perking up which I take to be a good sign.
Got the garden in just before our current long stretch of rain - hopefully that will help water the planted seeds to get them a good start. Can't wait to see what decides to come up. :)

I planted a Pear tree this year. I also have 4 grapevines growing. My blackberry bush did not make it :(
I Planted a pecan tree and a nectarine tree and I don't think they are looking so healthy.
I have 4 cherry trees that are looking good. I also have strawberries, tomato plants, and some pepper plants, but they are not growing as fast as I had hoped.

Oh yeah, I forgot that we also have strawberries in a pot and several raspberry bushes along the lower wall of the garden.

I do mostly flowers, ya know, roses, pansy's, impatients, butterfly bush and those kinds of plants. This year I think I am going to try some veggies though. My son is doing a community garden at his school and he really likes the ides of growing something by your own hands. I thought why not try to get it growing and at the same time maybe he will try some of the veggies he grows. He is not real good at veggies but it's a battle I will continue to have. LOL!!!! :BangHead:

I've debated on growing some fruits and veggies, but I have nowhere near a green thumb. The thought of picking my own strawberries and other things you mentioned, makes me lean towards giving it a try.

Unfortunately, my yard is so dry all of the time, its even hard to just grow grass lately. Texas weather is out of control with the heat this year, and to top it off....Water restrictions!!!! :sad1:
