These physcados i know that not spelled right my husband calls them jar flies they are driving me nutts, sound like a swarm in a horror movie
-
No problem. I know what you are talking about. They are cicadas. They are starting to "bug" me, too.
-
Cicadas don't bother me in the least. When I'm outside, I'm very aware of the sounds of nature and enjoy it.
-
I don't mind bugs too much outside, don't want them in the house. Spiders no way indoors. My guy sprays every 3 months and no bugs or spiders.

Spiders are evil. =-P If there was a council for evil they'd disband after doing a study on spiders; finding out all their evil combined isn't as evil as the nicest spider.
-
Cicadas are useful for other creatures to eat, fertilizes the ground, and you can eat them if you are adventurous enough. Unfortunately, you can't get rid of the sound. Try telling them "Happy Birthday!", because when they emerge, its at least been 7-14 yrs!!!
-
Mosquitos "bug" me far more than any other insect.

I had to Google this little creature. "17-year cicades.....stayed underground since Bill Clinton was President" WOW!!! Ugly little thing!
-
Cicadas don't bother me in fact I found it's body shell from a tree. Was going to paint it gold & display it but the shell body crumbled as it lands upon my hand. Spiders don't scare me in fact they help cut down on real pests, mosquito, gnats, & roaches. I hate roaches they're every ware here in FLa. If you've ever been attack by a huge flying roach you'll understand my hating them.
-
I'm not a fan of bugs at all. But I am less so of any bug that gets out of control. I also agree that although I can tolerate them outside I can't in the house.
-
I haven't even seen one yet this year, and they're supposed to be here.
-
Not heard any here in TN yet, hope they pass us by.
-
i cant stand bugs and i think this year they are worse than ever :star: :star:
-
We Are Surrounded by woods and they give me the creeps because everytime i walk outside one lands on me and they stick, just dont like them sounds like a invasion have to turn tv or radio up loud so not to hear them
-
yes they do get quite loud. I live in Ohio and we don't seem to have any here,,,, yet anyway. They are strange things but the kids love to find their shells when we do have them . :)
-
My Three Year old granddaughter wants to collect them in a bucket my 7 year old grandson carried one in house wanted to freeze it said he would have one forever since they only come out every 17 years
-
According to me, cockroaches are the nastiest of bugs. I hate them and flying roaches scare me a lot.
-
I hate all kinds of bugs. eewww! One time i had 2 cans of Raid-one in each hand to kill one roach. hehe Also, I never even heard of Cicadas until Yahoo posted something about them a few weeks ago.
-
We always have cicadas, but not in the SWARM numbers that are emerging on the east coast. Yuck.
-
i just cant get over the noise and when i walk out my front door the dive bomb me
-
I live in Michigan and so far I haven't heard or seen any Cicadas. Usually they would emerge every few years here, but not in swarms. I don't know much about their breeding or hatching seasons or when exactly they're suppose to emerge, but I find it very weird that they aren't in my area this year, but in biblical proportions elsewhere.
-
On a beautiful night cicadas can be quite relaxing especially if that is only noise around. It makes you stop and think about nature and how many different type of creatures actually inhabit the Earth.
-
We have stink bugs at my house. I kill them just about everyday. :BangHead: :BangHead: :BangHead:
-
haven`t seen any of the stink bugs this year but most of the cicadas are dead and gone now
-

I thanked your post for that information, because you taught me something about them I didn't know. I had heard of Cicadas, but didn't know much about them.
We have had problems with ants and spiders getting in. Traps have been laid down and the house sprayed, but at some point they come back. We also get the pesky, small jumping spiders that can be hard to kill at times. I don't like the winter, but it helps cut down on those bugs getting the house so that is good to see.
-
Bugs - UGH :angry7:
They belong wherever I'm not! Especially in the house.
-
I hate bugs, that's why i also hate summer... I can deal with flies and mosquitoes, but I loathe dealing with stink bugs and lady bugs that keep hitting my lamp light
-
Our cicadas are now gone, but they really did a number on our trees. Most of the trees have many clumps of dead leaves on them.
-
:sad1: The house I live in is spider prone because of all the woods around I guess. My husband was my spider slayer in shining armor but he passed away recently and I have found I can most of the time chase them down & kill them myself - guess you do what you gotta do because I can't stand spiders.
-
I see what you mean; cicadas are ugly little suckers, indeed. We have spiders, and I don't know where these big bugs come from, but they die quick because I make sure of it. I need to get some Raid; we have other pests; wasps; and I am not afraid of them, but my grandson got stung over a year ago and freaks out whenever he sees them. I use Raid, and they die fast.
-
I'm used to the sounds, I live in the woods.
-
Be patient - they won't be back for 17 years. Fortunately we don't havee them here where I live.
-
i heard they all died off or something. i actually haven't seen one in real life yet!
honestly, the sounds they make aren't that annoying hahaa
-
all the cicadas are gone now i too have wasps apparently they have made a nnest in my grandkinds sliding board on their swingset
-
They are ugly...cicadas....you have that right!
-
I don't have to deal with them all that much but right now the bugs that are driving me up the wall are fish flies. They generally aren't bad but what they like to do is coat things. Park your car outside for a while and you'll come back to one side being blanketed with them, and you either have to wipe them off to get rid of them or pray you can get in without disturbing them cause the ones here will all scatter and get caught in your hair or your clothes. Neither scenario is that pleasant.
-
Bugs don't really bother me, but those pesky little black flies can drive you nuts, they are in your face, your mouth, your hair.
-
I Cant Stand Any kind of bug
-
I've heard that we were suppose to get them in our area but, have not seen them yet! I guess they are getting them up to the North of the state. I live in Virginia just southeast of Fredericksburg and have no see a one yet, don't really want to either, saw them up around Washington DC about 7 years back and they were so thick that the sky looked black.
-
Never heard of them, do they bite.
-
I Live About 50 miles south of dc near solomons island we had them real bad in the trees and on the ground millions of holes in ground where they crawled out of no they dont bite but they dive at you stick to you and just creep you out
-
yes they are ugly we have woods all around our house sounded like a invasion
-

Creepy! I don't think I've ever saw one of these. Or heard them.
-
Never heard of cicadas in what states aret hey most known to be found
-
I can't stand bugs! I literally have a phobia or something because I want to cry and tear my skin off when I see a bug. Recently I discovered little holes in my clothes hanging in my closet and with extensive google searching I discovered there's carpet beetles that eat clothes. After that I scrubbed my entire house and I still dread sleeping in my bed. hahaha I'm so dramatic. :dontknow:
-
I am not a fan of any bug, I know they are all God's creatures but I do not care for them. I detest many but I want mention them all. I know that bugs were all created for a purpose the same as you and I but that still doesn't change how I feel about them. All I know as they have to eat to but I don't want them hanging around me.
-
They haven't made it here yet but I know people in VA are being bothered by them. Probably later this summer for us.
-
I haven't seen any cicadas yet either. They are also known as locust.
-
Cicadas are one bug ugly bug. The sound don't bother me though.
-
The ones you can barely see with lots of legs and they're speedy...centipedes & millipedes...I try and pretend I didn't really see it and go the other way. Don't want to even try to get rid of it. :o
-
They can be deafening. This is supposed to be an extremely bad year for them in the northeast. One great reason I am glad I have ac in my house so I can shut the windows.
Earplugs anyone?
-
well the noise all gone and dont see bugs anymore so lets see whats next first stink bugs then cicadas now what?
-
There has been so many bugs around in this heat...Its driving me and my family crazy also!! There are just too many all over our property.
-
We have tried everything from 7 dust to lime they all come back right after a good rain, farmers say build bat houses they eat every bug,not sure i want to have to dodge them !
-
Don't think I've seen any around here lately either but the darn flies are driving me nuts. Any time we open a door 2 or 3 will fly in and they are hard to catch!
-
true ,we have those great big black flies, i guess because there is marsh area in woods behind our house
-
I haven't seen any cicadas yet either. They are also known as locust.
Thanks ... I am familiar with locusts but haven't seen any for awhile.
-
I agree with champak97. I hate bugs the only one I like are the lady bugs. :)
-
Get a Handheld or just a simple Bug Zapper does wonders VS Flies, bugs.
-
The bugs bother me a lot during my nightly walks, and once one almost went inside my nose :BangHead:.
-
The cicadas have all died here at our farm in Virginia, but they left a lot of tree leaf damage. After researching, I found that established trees should survive, but newly planted ones may die. But least I haven't seen any stink bugs lately.
-
I believe Cicadas only come out ever 10-15+ years and there are many kinds that surface from the underground in different parts of the country.
-
well back to peice and quiet after all the rain dont even hear crickets right now
-
I've never experienced these little critters; however, I've lived in Utah my entire life. Here in Southern Utah I don't have anything that bothers me except an occasional earwig in my apartment and those things are harmless.
When I lived up by the Great Salt Lake I had a problem with mosquitoes. That was a nightmare.
-
Never faced a cicada at my home (only knats) but I can't stand lady bugs and stink bugs at my home... Lady bugs is all fine and all but the lady bug and stink bugs are so annoying when you have a lamp. They just keep on hitting it, making that zzzz sound (poor things die at the bowl after 10-15 hits from contact of the light bulb)... That's why I make special effort to close all the blinds at night so they don't attract anymore to come to my house
-
These physcados i know that not spelled right my husband calls them jar flies they are driving me nutts, sound like a swarm in a horror movie
We had them in middle Ga. last year and they drove all of us crazy, and then the left over skins stick to everything
-

i hate bugs having problem with water bugs and fleas. they are driving me crazy!
-
They've only just started up where I live. I don't mind them, but I hate mosquitos. On the other hand I love sitting on the patio and listening to the chorus of crickets. I just hope they don't go inside because my kitties will hunt them down. :cat: We've stated our monsoon season so now we have the toad chorus at night as well. Nature's symphony. :peace:

Now All We Have Are Crickets
