Title: do you wear contacts or glasses
Post by: aggie49 on June 02, 2013, 07:30:34 pm: right now i wear glasses and i hate them i want contacts but the eye doctor say's i can't wear them right now

Post by: rricardi58 on June 02, 2013, 10:52:39 pm: I have only ever wore glasses due to my eye sensitivity problem. Any kind of irritation to my eye causes intense stinging and discomfort. Also, my vision is such that all distances are affected and so even if I wore contacts, I would probably still need glasses for one of the ranges.

I tend to wear contacts more, but sometimes I just need a break from them to let my eyes breathe better or I'm just too lazy to put in my contacts and wear glasses for a change. Sometimes I purposely wear glasses, like when I get a massage, so my contacts don't get dried out and I can't see - wearing glasses makes those type of activities easier. I'll also wear glasses when I have to drive at night - again due to my contacts getting dried out after wearing them all day - my eyes can focus better with the glasses in those circumstances.

When I was in high school, I started wearing contacts. After children, my eyes changed and contacts don't work for me anymore.

Post by: vickysue on June 03, 2013, 02:19:30 pm: Started wearing glasses t the ae of 4 and have always wore them. Tried contacts for a week and with my allergys could not keep them in.Glasses are so much lighter and nicer then they were 40 years ago. I rather like them.

I have had to wear corrective lenses since I was about 8 years old so I am just used to it ... It is what it is.

I wore contacts for over 25 years and loved them. However, I got dry eye about 10 yeas ago and had to give them up. It was just too painful! I do wish that I did not have to wear glasses, though. I enjoyed the freedom to choose sunglasses and now I am stuck with 1 pair of prescription

Post by: vicogden on June 04, 2013, 10:03:40 am: I used to have glasses, then switched to contacts. However, I developed cataracts at a young age and had surgery to replace my lenses. Now one eye sees up close, and one far away, so no more glasses or contacts. Weird, but awesome!

I hear you! I wear glasses and hate them. I did wear contacts about 20 years ago and I do not know why I stopped.

I know several people that have had the surgery to correct their vision. I am a little chicken not to mention it is expensive.

I wear my glasses when my eyes need a break from them though. Contacts are still a pain putting in and taking out. I kind of wish I could get laser eye surgery, if my insurance covers it..

Post by: gaylasue on July 08, 2013, 05:19:30 am: I have allergies too bad in my eyes so I can't wear contacts. I'm wearing bifocals now. I have one eye that is far-sighted and one eye that is near-sighted. Almost to the same extremes in opposite directions.

The hubby goes back and forth between contacts and glasses. My daughter uses glasses only. And we just found out my 4 year old will need glasses as well.
