I seen that they are combining the kinect and all that now, it looks like they have had alot of problems with the kinect, then getting a zoom for it, and now it looks like they finally got it all in one. wish microsoft would do all of this before marketing stuff.

I think that it is going to very similar to Steam's current model, but it will ALSO require you to own a physical disk. I seldom play my Xbox 360 as it is, and I highly doubt I will be getting an Xbox One.

I don't like the boxy-ness. I also really don't appreciate the move to incorporate everything into the system. If I buy a console, it's so I can play games on it, not so it can become my entire entertainment system. And, if it were to be my entertainment system, I would want a way bigger hard drive. I have a PS3 and a PSP and they tried to incorporate everything into the consoles. Guess what, I have never put music on them so that entire section is wasted on me. I only watch blu-ray movies on my PS3 cause it's the only blu-ray player in my house. On the very rare occasion I don't have a DVD player and want to watch a DVD, then I'll use it at a DVD player but that has been incorporated into consoles for years. Other than that, all my consoles are used a consoles, not media devices.
And I swear, if there isn't a way to turn off the social media section, I may not get the console. I don't really use my Facebook for anything anymore and I really don't want to have every game I ever played being posted to Facebook. And I really don't want to be sitting there playing a game in my nightgown or something and it decides to take a picture and post that on Facebook because I say "shoot."

I'm not looking forward to it, which is a shame 'cause I love the 360. This new Xbox looks like it's going to be focused on everything but good gaming. I don't need a glorified smartphone for a gaming console!

I wasn't expecting much but when they started talking about it, my low expectations were even lowered. No used games without paying a fee? Always have to connect to the Internet at least once every 24 hrs? Kinect required? This is just a recipe for disaster imo.

WOW!! A new X box already!!! its hard to imagine what it will look like since the Xbox 360 looks so amazing!!! but I am looking forward to seeing it :thumbsup:

Based on the initial things I'm hearing on the XBox One, I'm not likely to buy one. Seems like it could turn into a big flop.

I just picked up my first Xbox 360/Kinect last summer, so I'm pretty certain I will not be buying this new system. Sounds like the biggest drawback is it not being able to handle games from previous version - not a very smart marketing ploy IMO. Also, given the various social media connection methods, the increased "connectivity" with social media is not a huge reason to buy such an expensive thing.
This might appeal to hard core gamers that want to be on the cutting edge, but having the motion sensor in the box vs separate may cause some people to have to reconfigure their entertainment setup.
It might also appear to people who got the first generation Xbox system and are looking to upgrade.
If I was in the market, I'd hold back and wait to hear how this new system shakes out. Then get the second generation of it once most of the bugs are fixed and they include a patch to play previous games...

can't use 360 games, can't use used games and it cost $500 no thanks. i would rather upgrade my pc and just play the only game i am looking forward to, the new halo, on that instead.

I think the Xbox one screw themselves over in E3 and should rethink their marketing.... I wouldn't really care about the $100 difference between the ps4 but that online verification and region locking (I heard they will have more support for other regions later) is dumb in their part.... The only game that looks interesting from xbox one is Titanfall but since it is coming out for the pc, there really isn't anything out there that differs from the ps4... I think that if xbox one pulled that online verification and region locking juck then they should have at least have more over the top exclusives (not on ps4 and pc)
Since I am mostly a single player person there no contest which I will choose for the console war

I am concerned about the idea that it will always be "on" especially with the kinect ability. Which would increase the likelihood that someone could hack into the system and watch me at any time. I am also concerned about how the console will decrease the used game market. Really I don't think it is fair to make the consumers suffer just because Microsoft didn't decide to concentrate on selling used games. They have enough money that they could easily start an exchange program and gain profits at least twice for the same game (new and used). I am never one to buy a new console until it has been out at least a year or more. I will see if I get lured into this next generation of consoles at some point but for now I am happy with what I have.

I didn't know a new xbox was coming out. Never owned one to begin with. My kids have a wii and that's been suffice for there gaming needs. Nothing more than Mario cart and Lego rock band games going on so they don't need lots of bells and whistles. We used a standard dvd player. Now the last of 2 dvd players is going out on us and the VCR is working more consistently. We'll be needing to replace our entertainment unit soon but investing in the xbox based on what the reviews on here are tell me not to jump into something so pricey...maybe just another $40 DVD player for this family.

Gaming is moving in the wrong direction, creativity is not so much pulling stuff out of nowhere, as much as it is doing something beneficial for people that no one has thought of. XBOX is just re-inventing the wheel and trying to pass it off as "new".

$499 is quite expensive.

These next gen consoles that have virtually no difference between its previous version is getting as old as every single repeat of Halo, Cod, Gears...you name it, the sequels are the same thing over and over and over, and games copying off of other games. Now days if you wanna play a game just go kill some zombies, because that will always stay original but you are still able to go to different places so its not the same old thing and your not gonna make the mistake of paying $500, or $400 to get what you already own anyway.
