What is the first Song that you remeber liking? Mine was a folk tune known as On Top of Old Smokey.

The green speckled frog song :)

Glen Cambells Rhinestone cowboy. I'm sure there was a child song there somewhere but I don't recall. But then I have always loved music.

"Sara" by Jefferson Starship, my mom said I used to sing it in the crib.

I used to remember going to my grandmother's house for the holidays where she would play some records for us kids when we visited. There are 2 songs that I really remember from those visits... The first is the chicken dance. She taught my sister and I all of the dance moves, so we'd be "winging" it around her living room. The 2nd song is "Shaddap You Face" by the Joe Dolce Music Theatre (I had to look that one up just now). We'd get a kick out of the key phrase in the refrain and would yell at the top of our lungs "Shutupa Your Face!" and then fall into laughter.
Of the more mainstream stuff, I remember Mom playing Abba in the car, so I knew (or thought I knew) the words to every song... Although looking back, I remember the words I thought were being sung and knowing what they actually are makes some of the errors quite humorous: In "Take a Chance on Me" I heard "Olly oxen free / Take a chance on me" instead of "Honey I'm still free / take a chance on me" and in "S.O.S." instead of "The love you gave me, nothing else can save me / S. O. S. / When you're gone / How can I even try to go on? / When you're gone / Though I try how can I carry on?" I heard "When you're gone / No one try Duncan Hines. Carry on...". I guess when your young, phrases like "Olly Oxen Free" and "Duncan Hines" are more important to you! ;D ;D ;D

My mother used to play records when I was younger. One of them was "Outta My Mind" by Clarence Carter. We are talking about the 1960's. As I grew up, I was a big fan of the Jackson 5 and loved to hear them sing the ABC song.

When I was younger our Mom used to sing a lot around the house. So there are to many to think of just one but I always enjoyed the lullaby she would sing to get us to sleep. As I grew older and listened to music, there are just so many that were great songs to name just one.

Probably 'Zippah-Day-Doo-Dah' sung by the character of Uncle Remus in the Walt Disney movie 'Song of the South'. I was probably 4 years old at the time, the song just stuck in my head for whatever reason
