Title: What are you saving for?
Post by: alamedann on July 06, 2013, 01:40:24 pm
It seems like a lot of us are saving our FusionCash money for something like a trip.  I was wondering if people would share what they're saving up for.  I'm saving up to buy a computer tablet.  Will probably have that by the end of the year.

I have a lot of stuff I'm saving for.  So I can't pinpoint one single thing.  1. Repairs on my vehicle 2. a computer so my husband and I don't have to share. 3. A larger apartment for my family 4. I could keep going but I think those are the most expensive of all of the things I'm saving for.

I am saving for a tablet as well, or maybe a smartphone.  I'm trying to get acquainted with the technology of the current century, as I always feel like I'm a step behind. ::)

I'm saving up for a TV. I'm using a little spare one we have right now. My mom has a nice little flat screen so I'm thinking of something like that for myself.

2. a computer so my husband and I don't have to share.

This might be easier than you think. Are you aware that you can pick up an old used computer on Ebay or Craigslist for less than $100 and put Linux on it for free. That is all you need to do your Fusioncash and other money makers on, then your husband can use the other computer.

I have made so money on FC and it sure does come in handy.  I am trying to save up enough to retire.  I retired 10 years ago but had to get job at walmart because I could not live on SS.  I wish I could find something to make enough to live on with out working.  I am 72 years old and I am getting so tired by the end of the day.  Hope everyone has a wonderful day and may God bless each of you and keep you safe.

I am saving in general for a new house, but if just referring to Fusioncash the earnings are not enough to say any single source. I would say this is just being pooled into my collection of disposable income towards groceries, gas, short trips, bills, etc.

Every little bit does count, you are right.  Having multiple streams of income certainly helps, and FC is a great resource. Pennies make dollars.  I'm a member of a collection of online quick cash sites and I just let the money build up in my PayPal and Payza accounts.  If it weren't for me shopping on ebay I'd have who knows how many thousands saved up by now lol Good luck on your goal

I know what you mean, wise goal!  Just let it pile up and don't give into temptation to using the money to shop online and you'll have a nice amount saved up eventually.

I am a grad student so I am trying to make a little extra cash to cover school expenses such as books or help pay some bills while in school. It is tricky to be a full-time student, Dad, and have enough hours in the day to work and make enough money to cover everything. This web sight has given me a little help with that regard and I am appreciative of it.  :)

I just put it into the general fund.  We are so broke at this point, there is no savings.  I just after 4 years got a home loan modification, so that should take off a lot of pressure.  Have cut back everywhere I can, so whatever I get from Fusion Cash helps!

If referring to saving in general I would say for retirement, my child's eventual college tuition and possibly another home. If referring to what I collect from Fusioncash I guess I can say this goes towards the groceries and monthly bills.

Saving for a rainy day, saving in case something happens...  I don't ever intend to retire, my generation won't get to do that.  So I save just in case I need extra money.

I heard the same thing when I was in high school, Social Security would be a thing of the past. I am so glad it never happened and I am free to enjoy my retirement with my basic needs met, so now I just have to concentrate on earning enough online for the extras. Remember, when I refused to listen to that dooms day talk, there was NO Internet to fall back on.

You can still create money to save by finding ways to cutting the cost of your necessities.  Maybe find a cheaper phone plan or lower your water usage. Consider using cheaper alternatives for personal and household items and carpooling or even biking to save on gas costs.  Hope this helps :)

You are right about emergency money being a necessity; my dryer went out Friday and I was so bummed about it! But I felt blessed to be able to replace it.  I have 6 kids so a dryer is considered a necessity for me, I don't want to go back to my Laundromat days (long term).

I'm going to look into consolidating my student loans but if that's not the best option for my specific financial situation they are usually pretty lienient with the monthly payback amount as long as you keep up with the agreement.  I'm glad you're saving for a computer instead of renting; I know 2 people who were spending $80 per month renting their computer on a 12 month basis and I asked them both if they realized that's a total of $960 and they could've gotten a HP like mine from Walmart for $288 and they both said they didn't have the money right now.......  so it's good you're waiting and saving, kudos to you!

I'm saving up for a new computer and to pay off my college loans.

I'm planning a vacation next month to Savannah, Ga......been wanting to go for a long time........

Reading this question makes me laugh! I don't know how many of you are parents but lately I haven't had alot of luck in the SAVING DEPARTMENT. I have 3 sons who on average do a pretty good job taking care of themselves. Recently my middle son who is in the Air Force and stationed overseas has had a bad run of luck when it comes time to receive his paycheck. He hasn't been getting one do to a mistake in the finance department. SOOO, my savings has been going to him to pay for his uniforms, food, and rent that he has to pay. I'm hoping that this issue will get resolved shortly as it is getting hard to pay all his bills,etc.... as well as pay my own. Best not complain though, he is sacrificing himself to protect my God Given Freedoms  :peace:
