Title: Yard sale this weekend.

Friday and Saturday I did a yard sale and I am amazed with the people in the town I live in. Number one a yard sale is not retail and we don't accept credit cards or checks. Number 2 when you go to a yard make a counter offer on the things because more than likely the price will come down. I am very grateful that I am done doing yard sale for a few months.  :wave:

i plan on having one. i've never done it before tho. there's not a lot of people that go around out neighborhood either. hmm.

ive tried so many times but people never really came. i gave up on having them.

In our town, we have many flea markets.  The people who loves the work of flea markets, I call them professional garage sale associates.  They scout for items.  It is free to use the penny saver on items under $100.  I see people shopping in the yard sales when I pass them by.  I love them and never, never go to a yard sale without cash.   :wave:

Someone seriously wanted to pay with a credit card?  Wow.  Although nothing surprises me.  I wouldn't accept a check either.  Most likely it is not good.  Or at least where I live. 

Somebody mentioned flea markets.  The area I live in there is a couple in a neighboring town but I have heard from a friend that a person comes around with a big book and she is referred to as "the tax lady" and you have to pay a set amount and fill out this paper and she gives you a ticket that is good for one month.  Plus you have to pay for your space.

   My Mom and my siter love to go to yard sales evey weekend!!! and now they are both saying that they want to have ther own yard sale, maybe in August

I don't go to yard sales anymore but it was a nice weekend for them here.

I love garage sales !!! I wish I could go I always work on friday and saturdays and rarely find any garage sales on sundays =(
