Texting definitely. When I get a text message, I can respond to it when I have time. And people tend to expect that too. However when I get a phone call, I feel a little more obligated to answer it (or Ignore the call, which feels rude). This is esp. true since my outside job doesn't allow personal calls or unsanctioned cell phone use while at work, and it seems like some of my friends (esp. those that don't have a regular job or are unemployed) don't seem to get that I cannot always answer them right away. I once had a person call me mid-morning (which I had to Ignore since I was in the middle of a meeting), a 2nd time mid-afternoon, and a final time just as I was walking out the door of my job. By the time I answered that 3rd time, this person was really pissed that I wasn't answering my phone, even after I tried to explain that I was working at the time. Had she texted me instead I could have easily answered during lunch or even a quick reply after the meeting in the morning finished; all she wanted to know was if I was running the karaoke show later that night :angry7:
I also hate getting a phone call while I'm driving, esp. considering that I can't easily ignore the call without looking at my phone (talk about distracted driving -- thus I'm not able to ignore the call). Again, when I receive a text while driving I can more easily wait until I've arrived at my location before answering.

If I am home I will use my land line to call people. I will text if I know they can't answer the phone however. But if i am out I will always text cause i just dont' want to be talking on the phone,,,, i may miss something lol

I grew up talking not texting. Unfortunately technology has made many in our society a bunch of mindless automatons.

that's easy - texting of course!!!!

If the person is not busy, I'll rather talk, otherwise I'll text if they're busy.
-
It depends upon the situation. Although I would rather talk than text.
-
It depends on the person, conversation, and what I'm doing at the time.
If it's someone I really like, I'm comfortable with either texting or talking.
If I don't care for the person much I'd rather text because then I can ignore it.
If it's a serious conversation I'd rather have it in person (or over the phone if face to face isn't possible).
If it's just a "Hey, what's up?" then texting works.
If I'm free, I'll chat.
If I'm a little busy, I'll text.

I don't text at all!! I guess I come from the older generation and believe that texting is very impersonal! I tell my kids and Grand kids to not even text me or my wife because we will not text back. I know it is the new thing or "new age" or whatever, I just personally think if you don't have the time to talk to someone one on one, it is not worth it!! This is just my opinion. Most of my generation lived without even cell phones for much of our lives, although I have a cell phone I try not to use it but, for emergencies only. I still have a landline in my house, which is very rare these days. And I was in the Telecommunications field for about 35 years.

I much rather text....I have never been a phone person.....
-
oh i would rather talk to my family, friends and loved ones. Even if it is just for a few mintues. There are some things i would much rather say then text, I like to chat on facebook, but there again some things are better left to the phone.
-
I've never been a phone person. I don't like to sit and talk on the phone so I prefer to text.
-
Talking on the phone xD my fingers are to big for my touchscreen to text.
-
I still use both, mostly texting to most people. But i always talk to my parents!
-
I Prefer To Text. I Don't Really Like Talking A lot On The Phone Unless Its Paid To Call Offers
-
depends on how much time I have and how involved the conversation needs to be.
If I just need an answer to one question ... I text.
If I need to catch up with my mom or sister ... I call
-
It depends. I prefer to text, but some things are easier to say with a phone call!

I don't text. If I want to use the phone it is to talk to someone and hear their voice. If I can't hear someone on the other end, there is no point in talking. I need the interaction of hearing . I will never get the concept of texting. Not only does it teach bad spelling and grammar, but it is isolating.

Whether you talk or text, it really does not matter. My daughter got me into texting; when you are talking, unless you are on the speakerphone, your arms as well as your neck gets tired from having to change them so much. These days, I don't talk a whole lot, so I prefer texting.

I prefer texting also :bunny:
-
I like to have relationships with people in the flesh...I talk to friends who live far away and text my close friends.
-
Actually you can do without both when driving. What is wrong with people that it is a do or die if they don't answer the phone or a text. If you want to either pull over somewhere safe and text or talk back. I have almost been hit while in my car by some stupid A$$ ignorant individual who feels they have answer a call.
-
I prefer texting over actual talking anyday!
-
I guess it depends on who and why I'm communicating with. I prefer texting most of time. It's requires less time on my phone...texts are convenient in that I can answer them when I have the time. Phone calls cost more for me to make, my connection is crumby and the whole process just eats up to much time.

It depends. I would rather talk than spend 45 minutes texting when the conversation could take 2 minutes and be over and the issue solved.
But sometimes I would rather text because I just don't want to talk to anybody.

It really depends. If it's just a piece of info I need to give and have nothing else to say, then I text. If I have a lot to tell the other person or need more information, I don't want to be texting back and forth for an hour, so I call.
-
Seeing as how I can't text on our phones I have to say talking. Besides some of these kids today don't even know how to talk properly because all they do is text. If my teenager was given the chance she would be texting to all the time.
-
texting is the new voice now people don't like talking so texting is good solong as your not doing while driving go texting
-
You know, I believe the phone was invented so we didn't always have to "write letters" anymore. Now with this "texting", seems like we are going backwards instead of forward!! Just saying......
-
It all depends... If I have to explain something, I would rather talk- way too much to text, but sometimes for easy answers, it's just easier to text! :D
-
I prefer to text sometimes just because you can say what you need to say and bot get stuck talking for 30 minutes.
-
I text when my baby is not sleeping quite that way but when he's awake I talk.
-
I would much rather text unless it is with a good friend to catch up. I like my conversations short and to the point.
-
I prefer talking text messages are always misinterpreted.

i text
