Post by: JediJohnnie on August 01, 2013, 11:32:53 pm
Hey gang, just got back from seeing The Wolverine and I was quite impressed with it! Hugh Jackman's still got it! If you're a fan of the X-Men series, you won't be disappointed.

What is this movie about? Is this another origin story, or is it about the days before he met Xavier?

I love Hugh Jackman and try to watch anything in which he is acting... Van Helsing, The Prestige, etc.  Viewing The Wolverine is on my bucket list.

I hear it is not doing as well as expected at the box office, and the critics are panning it down pretty hard... which means it is probably a pretty good flick!  ;D

It's set after the events of X3: The Last Stand. In a nutshell,Logan goes to Japan to visit a man whose life he saved decades earlier. He ends up protecting the man's granddaughter from the Japanese mob.

There's some cool action on a bullet train.Wolvie also faces two comic book villains: Sliver Samurai and a comely mutant female named Viper.

I'm not sure how familiar you are with the comic, but it's based loosely on the famous "Japan Saga" mini-series by Claremont/Miller.

This is a like a lot of movies in that I do have every intention of seeing it at some point but I am not jumping up and down to see it any time soon.  Don't have the money for the theatres anyway...

I'm a Marvel plan and was planning to see this movie despite the criticism of the storyline. I know I can be myself judgement alas I have certain expectations as I was a former X-Men comics reader, but I've learned to tolerate a different storyline. Sprite/Shadowcat and Storm had a little association with Japan and Wolverine too, so it would be nice to see them somewhere, but I guess that's not happening.
