I've applied for jobs that I am qualified for and I get so frustrated when I wait for my phone to ring. Does anyone have any positive/uplifting testimonies to share so that I can stay positive?

Be patient and wait on the Lord to direct you. He will lead you to that perfect job. It worked for me when I thought my world was coming to a stop!

I applied for a job that I really wanted once and I waited by the phone, hoping the person would call. But finally I decided to call, and it worked. I got an interview and was hired that day. Sometimes you have to be proactive.

If you know you qualified for that job and eager to start, don't wait for them to call you go ahead and call
them or go face to face, that is one way that they would know that you are serious and honest to earn that
position. So I'll said call them or go meet them again.. I wished you the best!!!:D

It's so hard and frustrating when you need a job and have to wait to hear about getting hired. Times are still hard and a lot of places still aren't hiring. Hang in there and keep trying. Call back and ask if they have made a decision. I'm sure you will be hired in the end. Keep a positive attitude. Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd just say don't give up, when the right job for you comes along your phone will ring!

Give them a call, or two or three. What's the worse that can happen? :dontknow:
At least it shows them you're still interested. Plus you won't have dropped off their radar.
I've been in that boat many times and it is disheartening. Apply for as many jobs as you can and don't focus on just one "perfect job."

Unless they have explicitly have told you that they do not want you to call them, you should always do a follow-up phone call, either when turning in your application or even after you get an interview and are waiting to hear if you'll be hired. By calling them, it shows that you are indeed interested in the job and are a proactive type of person (many managers appreciate someone that will find work to do during slow times instead of just standing around looking bored or playing on your cell phone). As I mentioned above, the only time you shouldn't call is if they've explicitly told you not to call; the reason being that sometimes they use that as a way to see whether you can follow direction. And note that there is a difference between them saying that you don't have to call them vs. that you shouldn't / mustn't call them; the former is just them being polite and not wanting to put any burden on you whereas the latter is an instruction.
That being said, you may want to look at the job posting... Usually there is a set time period when the job offering is open. Sometimes they want to be fair to all applicants and won't look at the applications until after the end-date for when they are accepting applications. Then they'll go through all of the applications and give interviews to those that they deem most qualified for the position.

I don't think you should just sit by the phone with the great need for jobs & not many around to get; you should be more assertive. Call them, to at least find out if you even in the running.Good Luck!
