You can try half.com which is owned by ebay. I have some college books from my son that he wants me to sell for him and I am going to look on there.

If they are for courses at a particular college, try posting a note on the bulletin board at the school.

That's true, half.com is an option; however, I would list them on Amazon.  Then you can see how much other people are selling the same book for and choose to be competitive if you want to.

Sometimes you can ship the books to Amazon for free where they will ship them for you when they sell and/or they will offer you an Amazon gift certificate instead if you're interested in the gift certificate.

It's easy to list on Amazon because the format is simple.  When the item sells Amazon will send an electronic deposit directly to your checking account if you choose that option.

I don't know anything about half.com but when I was in college I always did this through Amazon.  You are sure not to be scammed there.

Have you tried SellBackYourBooks.com?  I have sold books to them and received $102 for them.  I also tried ValoreBooks.com.  I like their service better; I received almost $100 from Valore.  Good luck.

I don't want to get scammed.

For a profit--No.  You would have to sell for more than you gave.  Nobody is going to give more for a used book than they can get it for new.  Besides that I have heard most of the books can be downloaded and not only are the cheaper but more portable and lighter.

I sold about 50 of my old college textbooks on amazon.com. On the plus side, it is an honest site and you can figure out what to charge based on the other people's listings. On the negative side, you have to run out to the post office and mail each book you sell when you sell it to maintain a high feedback rating, which is inconvenient and time-consuming. Also, a lot of people who buy textbooks on amazon.com are looking for newer editions of books that you only own older editions of.

I'd stick with a legit business with all the traffic-Amazon.

My daughter sold many of hers on Amazon.com  and also posted on the "selling" board at the college she was going too.  Either way she got most of her money back from buying the books, as they were in very good shape.

Thank you, I haven't tried any sites yet, I want to know some that are trustworthy before hand.
