Title: website traffic and getting referrals

For those of you who own websites to get referrals. How well do you when you get paid traffic? I have heard that sometime when you pay for traffic you get fake visitors. How often would you say you get referrals for X amount of advertisement time you pay for? Also please share any tips on the subject.

I've gotten 9 referrals and only one did anything... so they are good for a quick buck or two, but don't count on them to act like we do...

yeah they do seem to stop having activity after a while.
