What are some benefits of being a member
of Costco?
-
If you use the membership regularly, you can save by purchasing in bulk things you use frequently. You also wind up saving on a lot of home improvement and auto items. We had one near us when we lived up North, and I loved it. We didn't have vision insurance then and we saved a lot of money by getting our eyeglasses there. The gas was cheaper too.
Also, your membership supports one of the few corporations that pay their employees a living wage

I really wish there was one near us.

There are lots of benefits to being a member of Costco. Gas is cheaper and it is cheaper to get your tires rotated and replaced there than just about anyplace else. Plus if you buy all your food there in bulk, there are big savings to be had. Of course, there is the downside that you have to store all the stuff you buy there somewhere, so you need room in the kitchen for that. We also buy all our eyeglasses there because their eye department is much cheaper than Lenscrafters or Pearle Vision and we got our cell phones at the Verizon kiosk there because they were free (that model wasn't free in the regular Verizon store).

I'm not sure what the benefits are, but I've been considering becoming a member there myself. This is useful information. Thank you.

We have a brand new one almost finished here in New Orleans. Looking forward to visiting to find out all the info and she what is up.

I love Costco but have limited our spending to one hundred dollars per visit. If you shop correctly the savings are great. You pay a membership fee and the savings are usually made up in you first visit. I go one step further and get the executive member ship where a portion of all that you spend comes back to you a year later-usually when your membership is ready to expire. This year we spent enough so that our membership was covered and we got paid an additional thirty dollars. Pretty hilarious that we got paid thirty dollars to shop and save money. The problem is that purchases come in large bulks so you have to be careful to use things up before they go to waste.

I use Costco often and I think the overall price I get when buying items, the gas savings and the American Express cashback more than makes up for the cost of the membership. Oh, and I like snacking when visiting the booths.

I had been a member of Costco for years and loved it. My sister was actually a member first and got me to try it. I love buying in bulk and having access to so many different things-electronics, eyewear, photos, food, homegoods, seasonal, school, clothes... and so much more. I now shop at Sam's Club, which is very similar and closer to home.

I don't really shop at cosco...Not really close to me but i would imagine it's like a sam's club.. You can get alot of things in bulk and come out way cheaper than most stores..I personally like the fact that when you shop around club stores like that you get samples of the new foods they bring in..So it's kind of a plus because most people don't get that benifit in regular stores..Also you can get freebies by being a member.. Not particularly in their store.. But sometimes they will come out with some freebies for The club members only..You can't beat free! Another thing is sometimes the club stores do get new items in before it ever hits another stores shelves.. That is one thing my mom loves about club stores..Well worth the membership
If you don't find enough information you can always call Cosco..They are always looking to reel in new customers.. And i'm sure they can provide you with detailed information :)

Depends on membership. All costco membership cards are worth it mine usually pays for itself in the first month . Oh yeah they also have a simple food court with very afordable food. They have a ton and variety there for all kinds of stuff from furniture to appliances, to groceries galore, Big screen tv's to laptops and desktop desktop computers & of course samples but only go during 11 til closing to get the samples (usually there getting out there between 10-11 to set up and stuff). Oh yeah if you have an American express and i believe you can get a lil cash back for every purchase you make there. Oh yeah they also have a simple food court with very afordable food. You will most deff be saving on stuff you normally buy from regular stores and maybe even get stuff you can't get in any other store. The membership is worth the cost and does pay for itself so enjoy

Love Costco. I am an executive member and get at least $50 back at the end of each year. It pays for the difference in membership fees and a little more. Yes, you have to spend more at first to buy larger amounts but, it is so worth it. Have saved a lot of money with Costco. It is also good to patronize a company that is good to their workers!! :peace:

We do not have a Costco here where I live, but we do have a Sam's Club. I used to be a member, but stopped because I lived on an apartment and never had room to store the bulk items, but thinking about going back now that we have a house. Wish we had a Costco.

Yes! Costco has its own brand name: Kirkland products- Vitamins, juices with more vitamins and minerals...and many more.

What I Like
The samples
The variety of products you can buy in bulk (be careful because sometimes they're not always cheaper than a regular grocery store)
Products you don't normally see at other grocery stores
What I Hate :sad1:
The long check out lines
Having the person at the door looking at your receipt - sometimes the line is long just to get your receipt checked :angry7:
