Title: Do you know how the Forum Subjects get their ratings?
Post by: tdillard on September 09, 2013, 09:15:41 am
How do the forum subjects get their rating?   :dontknow:
There really seems to be no rhyme or reason to the ratings.   :sad1:
Does anyone know how they get their rating?   ???
Just curious

Look towards the top right of the first post in a topic.  You will see a spot that says "You have not rated this topic. Select a rating:".  The ratings you see are just the average of how other members rated a topic.  It is not a widely used feature and thus the ratings can be influenced strongly by a relatively small number of votes, resulting in the "somewhat strange" ratings you see from time to time.

Thanks, tdillard for your post and Administrator for your reply.  I've noticed the ratings "spot" in the past but never really understood what it was for.  Now it makes more sense. It's funny how you can be a member of a site for many months and still be finding out new things about the way it works. It might be fun for more of us to start using the feature, and see which threads can pull a higher rating.

Ditto on the thank you for this post and response. I just got a little more educated on how this forum works and now that I understand and know how to use this feature, I am prompted to use it. Thanks again.  :)
