People tell me I don't look my age but that is because I eat a healthy diet and don't use prepackaged foods I like to make from scratch besides it tastes better. another thing I eat fish once a week because it keeps me healthier. the only physical thing wrong with me is I have acid reflex (from eating fast food in the past) and take meds for that. my blood pressure is normal and so is my cholestrol and sugar. I am over 65 and feel like a teenager.

No, I Do not eat properly so when I retire I can feel better and younger, but I really wish that I did!!! Hopefully I will start before its to late :BangHead:

I don't really eat properly because the good stuff that suppose to be healthy and good for you it don't taste good.
-
I'm not waiting until retirement. I try to eat healthy but I don't all the time. I eat healthy to be healthy now.
-
I try to eat properly...for my health!

I'll never be able to afford to retire. I'll have to work until I die or the Lord comes back, whichever comes first.

Sorry but I eat when I want to eat. I don't eat properly but I keep myself
functioning so I can stay strong all day everyday. :cat: :cat: :cat:

My husband and I are retired and he does all the food shopping and cooking to pay me back for when we were younger and I had to stay at home with the kids 24/7 because he was gone travelling for work all the time. He makes really healthy meals with a fresh veggie like cauliflower or broccoli, a fresh green salad, a meat and a carb for every dinner meal. We try to keep the portions relatively small because we don't need as much food as when we were younger. So, for example, when we buy a nice expensive steak at Costco, we each only eat 1/4 of it at one meal whereas we used to eat a full steak each per meal. This keeps the weight down and us feeling young and fresh.

I totally agree with you about eating properly so that when a person retires, you will feel younger. Eating properly leads to living a longer, healthier life. Eating poorly during your life does catch up to you. But it is never too late to begin to
adopt healthier eating habits. Antioxidants in foods, vitamins found naturally in foods, omega 3's in fish-are all so important. Eating healthier equals less healthcare bills down the road. By healthcare bills I mean having to pay for doctor visits, medecines, specialists, hospital bills. I have not always had the healthiest nutrition, but I have turned that around, and work hard to implement good nutrition. And don't forget the benefits of exercise!!! It's important
to have both good nutrition and exercise reguarly.

Not even. You can live now and die later or just die later.

I don't want to feel younger, I just want to feel healthier. There are a lot of young people with all kinds of health ailments like obesity, anxiety, etc...

Before I ate properly I couldn't climb stairs or walk without a cane. Now I run up and down the stairs to do laundry, etc. and I don't use a cane but have it in case I may need it in the future. so for the ones who don't eat properly because it don't taste good take one day out of the week to eat anything you want and diet the other days with healthy foods. You won't be sorry. I will pray for you.

I try so hard to eat right! I went into a body building competition ten years ago and finished pretty well. I started off at a twenty four percent body fat and went down to a seven percent body fat all from working out everyday and eating six correctly portioned meals comprised of equal parts carbohydrates and protein...and managed to do that in twelve weeks. Now I am lucky if I eat twice a day and I am still overweight because I only workout two to three times per month. Work is killing me slowly but putting my family and their needs first is what I am all about.
