Have you tried signing up for it either at the gov site or at private health insurance companies like Blue Cross? Because I'm currently paying 230$ a month and mine might actually be going down to around 200$.

Go through the marketplace www.heathcare.gov there are insurance companies out there competing for your business. (free market)
The subsidy is based on a sliding scale taking into account family size and income. One of the insurance companies will put you in a plan that you can afford.

Did you just refer to a government ran exchange as an example of a free market?

If you get rid of Obama then you have to get rid of all the senators and Representives also because it is all their fault not just Obama. He can make a sugestion and all of the Republicans don't agree. It is time to revote for all new members that we know will do right by the people of america. You must know how the system works they all have to agree all it doesn't happen. so stop blaming one person.

It is a free market. The exchange handles only the subsidy. YOU choose which private insurance company you buy your policy from. that is a free market. Please know what you are talking about before being snarky or it makes you look dumb.

That doesn't make it a free market. It's actually an example of a controlled market because government policy dictates what the insurance companies charge. All policies on the exchanges also have to conform with the ACA. If it was truly a free market, no such guidelines would exist. Don't confuse private ownership with a free market.

Maybe these insurance companies should have played fair and not have majorly screwed over millions and millions of people for over a decade now. Maybe then they could have their no-guideline free market back. There's other variables at work here at why the previous system was laughably broken and did not work. Pre-existing condition? Can't get insured (unless there's a $500/mo premium for basic coverage)! It shouldn't cost an individual w/o insurance 2100+$ to go to the ER to have a doctor do 15 seconds of work, nor should it cost 700$ to talk to a doctor for 5 minutes about a neck problem and then have him print out a 3 paged-document for you to read.
The amount of people not paying their bills for these things is staggering, and insurance companies were running on unfair and immoral practices. The american public was getting screwed over, so something needed to be done. If anyone here does not like it, that sucks. There's a lot I don't like about it either, but it might work. Something direly needed to be done about this, so I'm glad the system is changing for healthcare.
We have bigger fish to fry anyway. NSA, anyone? Go fight something that is actually breaching American freedoms big time rather than attacking something that could potentially help us. How many people are going to the rally in DC tomorrow? Show of hands?
-
I don't understand some of you people, President Obama is trying to make sure EVERYONE and that includes you, to have afforable health care. Do you know some people cannot afford to go to the doctor or get medicine. If he did not care about the american people he would not even try this thing. Some of you are so ungreatful, but don't worry he will be out soon enough and I can't wait to see what you will complain about then. :dontknow: :peace:

Even before the ACA it wasn't a true free market, but I completely agree with you that it wasn't working. The amount Americans are paying in healthcare expenses relative to other countries is staggering. I think reasonable minds can disagree on whether or not the ACA is the solution to that problem, but it really is just time to roll it out there so that people can evaluate the actual results.
-
why is it I hear more and more people wanting a new president and yet, when we had the chance to get a new one........it didn't happen.
-
Romney was not President material.

Exactly! It may or may not work, but atleast we have the option to elect someone who will repeal it if it fails miserably. I am crossing my fingers that it does work since I keep seeing horror stories every week online with people that can't/couldn't afford it.

How is giving the American people who can not afford HEALTH INSURANCE to begin with A FINE for not having Insurance, HELPING THE AMERICAN PEOPLE,????
-
How is giving the American people who can not afford HEALTH INSURANCE to begin with A FINE for not having Insurance, HELPING THE AMERICAN PEOPLE,?Huh?
Because when uninsured people get injured or sick, then rack up a $100,000+ bill they can't pay, their life is ruined no matter the age. Many end up dying because they can't afford any care after that bill. Insurance companies won't touch them due to their dilemma. Unless it fails, the ACA insures this will not happen.
There's seriously too much whining about this subject without properly looking into it. From an aerial perspective, it's far from perfect, but the concept behind it is very moral.
-
Yeah there out there just have to look, but the thing is its always been there low prices,

I so agree with you! Many will not because of their ignorance.

When you say get rid of our President, I think you need to word your issues right because sometimes it will seem like you want him to be rid of. I will Protect our President just like the people who are hired to protect him but even more.

Obama will be gone, not soon enough but he can't run again so America will just have to put up with him for the remainder of his elected term. Impeachment is just not ever going to happen for a host of reasons so it is really not worthy of talking about.
As to the ACA, or Obamacare; this thing has been 'in the making' for decades, Obama himself really had little to do with its actual construction. The far left has been writing this 'law' for well over two decades and Obama merely whole heartedly endorsed its implementation. Obama has stated that he is not all that happy with it as it stands and actually wants a 'single payer' system for health care. This thing is NOT about health care or insurance, although that is the means employed to the desired ends. If it were about health care, the funds committed just to the failed Obamacare web site debacle alone would more than be sufficient to pay for all the 'uninsured' or 'pre-existing conditions' through the existing free market insurance carriers. So if you are delusional enough to think this effort is some grand scheme to acutally benefit the populace, then you need to seriously examine your intelligence and knowledge of this crud.
This is all about growing the government and CONTROLLING the citizens. Period! It is proving all that the naysayers said to be reality and not just rabid criticism. This is never going to work, the younger folks will not tolerate the costs they are forced to pay. The dismal enrollment rates show that, and it is not going to get any better. In the not to distant future you will be given two paths, one is to scrap this trash in lieu of a true COMPLETELY run government operated single payer system, or the dismantling of the ACA and trying to reestablish a true free market system.

I read somewhere that Obamacare has been in the making since the '40s. As for single payer, that's exactly what the left wanted but didn't force it because of the mess with the ACA. They planned it this way because they knew more people would be receptive to the single payer system if Obamacare was crap and that's EXACTLY how they intend to control the people and make everyone dependent on the government like Greece, France, etc., yet are blind to the fact that austerity measures are kicking in in those countries because the Ponzi schemes in Europe just ran out of everybody else's money. BTW, if young people in their 20s-30s don't sign up, the ACA will crash and burn before it even gets started, which is EXACTLY what they want it to do.
Most people that want the single payer have NO IDEA what it's all about...they only heard glowing reports from some Democrats and that's all they wanted to know. They just never do any research. They believe onlyl the those on the right lie, never their innocent Democrats.

Hello Socialism goodbye to our freedoms
-
Republicans complain about what is wrong with ACA but never come up with any solutions or anything to add to it or take away. They just keep being the party of no. I mean really what are they good for and why do they waste tax payers money on their jobs that they do nothing and to say they should even have a job.
-
he is no worse than our previous president, he is doing the best he can given the situation he was left.
-
Doing the best he can with what he was left? Really? Still blaming Bushie for all his incompetence and failures at practically every turn in his reign of destruction of the nation? Seriously now, if one is so blind that they can't see, accept or even acknowledge abject failure and absolute dishonesty when it slaps them in the face they have serious prejudicial issues with facts and reality. Never let the truth obscure ones ideology? So sad... ::)

The republican party is a insane wreck right now and it just keeps getting worse. I truly hope their popularity gets replaced by the libertarian party, because all these ignorant republican voters have no clue how bad their party is being run-- they need to realize that the present-day GOP is just as bad as the dems, so it's a lose-lose situation. Libertarians are the closest they will get to the old republican political ideals (less gov't everywhere) they keep grasping for.
-
We will never get rid of him until we absolutely have to because the voters believe everything he says and want the free stuff he promises. Congress had to enact Obamacare but it was his not-so-brilliant idea.
-
I am all for getting rid of OBAMA!!! And to the ones that actually think that your current insurance price is going to stay the same amount as it is now, well think again... Plus, a lot of insurance companies are no longer covering the Doctors and practices that they are covering now.
-

The Republicans have had a couple health plans out there and the most recent one is still online. Reid, you know, the one who blocks everything the House passes, never brought any of their plans up for a vote...and that includes the jobs plans. Reid tabled all of them without any debate.
I think it's a bit tiresome and disgusting that this government is now run by one or two people. It's not the government our founding fathers called for and it definitely is not following the Constitution anymore. Little by little, our rights and freedoms are being taken away so silently and quietly that no one realizes it because of the hubbub the administration is so good at diverting the focus of real problems into minor problems thanks to the mainstream media who, I might add, give the president a pass on everything.
C-Span is your friend and their cameras in Congress is where the truth lies. if you don't pay attention, you'll never know the truth.

Hello Socialism goodbye to our freedoms
You'd be the same person screaming "Get your gubbmit hands off my medicare!" completely ignorant to the fact that medicare is a government run program. Our roads, bridges, and tunnels are "socialism". Our police departments, public schools, and military are "socialism". We live in a SOCiety which means there are things we do as individuals and things we do as a group and it's ALWAYS been this way. Stop using buzzwords and catch-phrases to make it seem like you know what you're talking about because it just does the opposite.
These false dichotomies of capitalism vs socialism or big gov't vs small gov't are just moronic simple minded. We decide, based on the situation and what's needed, if we do things as a group or not. You want a big screen tv? That's all you. You want protection from overseas threats? You can pick up a musket and hide in a bunker if you want, but I prefer chipping in on a well trained military.
How is giving the American people who can not afford HEALTH INSURANCE to begin with A FINE for not having Insurance, HELPING THE AMERICAN PEOPLE,????
Those that "can't afford it" can be subsidized. Also, it's completely unfair to those currently paying into the system to have to pay for those that utilize it and don't pay. When someone racks up a bill and can't pay for it, did you think the hospital just ate that cost? No! The bill was passed on to those already paying into the system. You think because you didn't have section on your pay stub that said "other peoples healthcare" that you were not paying for it? The ACA simply took into account the FACT that we're already paying for each other and tries to make those who weren't paying do their part.
Doing the best he can with what he was left? Really? Still blaming Bushie for all his incompetence and failures at practically every turn in his reign of destruction of the nation?
::)
This response is never any less disingenuous, asinine, or annoying every time I hear it. Blame doesn't shift. If I break your leg, I broke it, not the doctor trying to patch it up. The amount of time it takes to patch it up is the amount of time it takes depending on the severity of the issue. Following your reasoning, Hurricane Sandy is the fault of those still digging out from under it.
Seriously now, if one is so blind that they can't see, accept or even acknowledge abject failure and absolute dishonesty when it slaps them in the face they have serious prejudicial issues with facts and reality. Never let the truth obscure ones ideology? So sad... ::)
Speaking of physicians, heal thyself. You speaking of "abject failure" and about others having "serious prejudicial issues with facts and reality" makes me think your home planet is Bizzaro world. So we're still losing jobs? The stock market is still doing poorly? We still have the same presence in Iraq and Afghanistan? Don't Ask Don't Tell is still around? He has successes and failures like any other president but I'm sure in the bubble you live in, you pretend his successes are failures and exaggerate his failures as if they're the worst thing that has ever happened to mankind. Dude, just stop. You make my f%&$ing blood boil.
-
Mission accomplished, I guess, so happy that your blood is boiling, that might be covered under the ACA, if you can get on that program. Unfortunately for you and others that love to use others to promote your own agendas, I don't play childish games. Your sophomoric comments fail to demonstrate anything I posted to be incorrect but only your own venting. Have a good day, seems your life really is miserable.
-
We will get what we vote for in this nation......anyone wanting freebies all the time vote for the socialist that says we'll take from the rich and give to the poor....

Hmm. I wonder if your eyes were darting back and forth looking suspicious hoping no one would notice the pretense and ad-hominems. You have to teach me how to write with my fingers in my ears going "la la la la la I can't hear you la la la la". That's a hell of a talent.

hello mack fly, did president Obama lie about weapons of mass destruction or cause a war that should have never taking place, or spend 10 million a week on this lying war we are still paying for, bush was an *bleep* of a president and he should be jailed and water boarded.
