have you ever been taken to court for not paying a bill? I emptied out a storage unit, but I forgot to tell them I wanted to close my account, so for two months They were billing me for nothing. And now they want 130$ or they are taking me to court, and honestly it is my own fault. It sucks, especially around xmas time. have you ever forgot about something like that?

A loan company attempted to garnish my wages about six years ago, but we were able to come to an agreement.

No. I've never done anything like that. I've never been sued for anything either and I hope it never happens. You should probably go ahead and pay the $130 because court costs a lot more.

I agree. Not only will it cost more for court, it doesn't sound like you would win anyway since you admit that you forgot to tell them. So then you would have to pay the $130 plus the court costs and it would end up costing you more.

Yes I have been in court for so many thing about settlements and custody, it really sinks cause the children get hurt the most. >:(

Nope, thank goodness. Never been to court for anything like that. I have only been to court for a traffic ticket.
-
No but I've been to court before when I was really young and it was the scariest thing.

I have never been taken to court so I have no idea what this is like
-
No. Try to get a payment plan or reduced amount.

Nope never and pray that remains the same.

I have never been taken to court. However, I have been a witness in a traffic ticket case. The traffic ticket case was thrown out of court!

Oh yeah been there done that using the T-Shirt for a rag thing. Mine was through a divorce an my ex wife ran up a $1,300 long distance phone bill with AT&T and AT&T took me to court. Luckily my attorney who was a family friend went to bat for me and showed the court when we became legaly separated and that she had been under court order to change the phone service to her name and the dates that it was supposed to take place so I only ended up paying for about $50.00. However I must warn you that there is more going on than just taking you to court and haveing a judgement made against you. By not paying the bill I am sure beyond a doubt that this company has sent notice to the credit reporting companies and will ruin your credit if you do not pay the bill. Which in the long run will have a much more negative effect than paying $130.00. So I would call them up see what kind of a deal they will make and pay them off before more damage can be done since this is an accumulative effect and every month that you do not pay they will add interest and report to the credit companies that you have not paid on the interest.
-
No I have not.....I'm sorry to hear you had to go through that.....
-
If you go talk to them maybe they will let you make payments. After all they want there money and if you are good for payments they may take the payments and it should not go against your credit that way.

Last year I got some court paper because an old collection was suing me. I didn't understand the paper work and I was waiting for the court day, well little that I knew I was suppose to respond to them by a certain day. the court went against me and they put a Levy on my bank account. I get paid every month and I had just gotten paid they took every thing. I went to this place were they help me for free and I was able to get my money back, but not after inuring 10 insufficient funds because I paid my bill when I got my direct deposit then they took it all. I had to wait around 30 day to get it. It was a hard month; very hard. :( :sad1:

No I have never been taken to court for not paying a bill. The only time I have been to court was when I divorced my ex-husband.
