Title: dining table
Post by: dansazz on October 31, 2013, 07:31:03 am
this day and age people don't assemble at the dining table to eat, as they once did. Of course some do, but I think if more did, it would help with a lot of things. It's a good time for family conversation, as well as a nice home cooked meal. Do you eat at the dining table, or somewhere else?

We always make sure to have pizza at least once a week and eat as a family.

We don't always eat at the table like we did when I was a kid, but we do try to at least sometimes.  I think it's an important thing that a lot of people are missing out on.

The wife and I eat at the coffee table in front of the TV.  We still have plenty of time to talk to each other.  We are fine with it.

Yes, I have to agree the dining table isn't used as a family setting that often. People's lives have become too busy to
sit down as a family together as I family and I must say that this is one thing I miss.

We sometimes eat at the dining table, but most of the time it's a meal in the living room but we still talk to each other. I think more than anything it's about keeping the lines of communication open.

It's just my hubby and I and we don't have a dining table.  We eat on the couch and watch tv.  Once in awhile, when we do have family get togethers then we do eat in the living room and talk.

We only eat at the dinning table during dinner. My husband wakes up early for work and have lunch out. The only we get a chance to have meal together is during weekends and dinner time.

We eat breakfast and lunch wherever, sometimes in the breakfast nook, or in the family room watching TV, but supper is in the dining room every night, no exceptions!

Our kids are still young, so we all sit at the table for dinner each night.

I don't even own a dining room table, so... ;) In fact, I'm sitting at my computer right now IN the "dining room"!

We don't have a dining table, but I do like to set a nice kitchen table for dinner. We do sit down once in a while when everyone is home.  With every one working different shifts, it is a little hard to do, but we do when we can.

I agree with you. They do not want to go the dining table for many reasons: Obesity, junk food, other health problems. Where I live, we use our dining table to do arts and crafts, read or use our laptops.
