I went to the store and there was this really pretty girl (maybe 14) with her mom, dad and little sister. The 14ish year old was trying on clothes and when i saw her come from the dressing room wearing a shirt (with her stomach showing) and leggings, I wanted to yell at her. Her little sister told her she didn't like the outfit and that she shouldn't buy it. the mom AND DAD saw her in it and guess what! They bought it! Are you kidding me!! I wanted to scream at the parents because there is no where any girl should go showing skin like that (unless she wore it in her bedroom only!) Would you approve of a child that young showing a lot of skin?

Females are different these days. I know im usually attracted to the women who have high respect and are "old-fashioned" per se. Dont hate me!

:) After raising 3 daughters, I have made them change clothes on several occasions. Pretty and Sexy, to me, is not showing me everything you have.

I don't know why girls feel its necessary to wear skimpy and tight clothing. Men don't really need that much encouragement to be interested in the female body.

I went to visit my son at school. On the play ground I seen elementary girls with short shorts and leggings (the ones that go up to the thigh and end at ankle.) I was appalled. In the rule book for the school these type of clothing are not to be worn. Seems rules are not enforced.

I`m not in favor of the young kids dressing in sexy clothing. It is just not right. I`m hoping I still can control my daughter until in her 20s.

Teens are one thing but pushing younger children into modeling competitions under the guise of talent shows is another. I just saw Bad Grandpa and didn't realize that these things were still going on! I was so glad that he made fun of it. The show was similar to shows that we saw Jon Benet Ramsey in. Parents living vicariously through their children are causing this to happen. You can see early base/foundation building happening when you see babies in Juicy Coutoure clothes. I think that it is just as absurd to see parents holding their boys back a year in kindergarten so that they will be more mature/bigger for sports. Why don't these parents spend some time with their kids and teach them to be scholars? That is what the world needs...compassion and brains.

As you pointed out in your post the parents were the ones that should be yelled at for not taking care of thier daughter. They were wrong on several different levels but than again this is where a parent has to step up and be responsible for what their children are doing. And we as a group and society should be making the parents responsible for what a child does.

Not that a think that girls should dress provocatively because as a female I chose to not,
HOWEVER
I do think there is something to be said for a person being able to wear whatever they want without getting judgments like "*bleep*" assigned to them. This is exactly where the whole argument comes about women having to dress a certain way to not get raped. That is ridiculous! People should not feel the need to behave a specific way just so people will not rape them, or call them a *bleep*.
Im no raging feminist but I just think there are bigger fish to fry before tackling the way individual women dress

Heck no I would never let my daughter wear something like that.
-
Blame on the fashion designers and the styles they are promoting!

I agree with most people here >< Little kids to Teenagers these days its just god dam over doing it with clothing they wear. Its either too short or just shows off way to many skin.
-
14 is too young to be wearing midriff and leggings, actually nobody should wearing that in public. Sounds like dancing or yoga attire.
-
Parents need to do a better job of controlling their kids. With a proper foundation, these little girls are less likely to be negatively influenced by this perverted world.
-
parents tend to take the easy road lately...instead of spending time teaching right from wrong. it's no wonder there are so many teen parents these days.

I might agree with this except that we are talking about a girl of 14, not a woman in her 20s. I know that this sometimes does lead to statutory rape. Imagine this 14-year-old going to a teen Halloween party. One of the bouncers / staff sees her and when he asks how old she is, she lies and says 18. Since she is dressed in a more adult fashion, he may not question whether she told him the truth and so they end up hooking up at the end of the night. I had a friend where that happened to him except that he was a senior in High School (that had turned 18 earlier in the year) and went to a teen dance at a local dance club. He hooked up with the girl after she told him that she too was 18 only come to discover that she was only 15 when her parents filed for statutory rape against him. Luckily for him they ended up dropping the case when she admitted lying to him.

yep its pretty crazy these days!!!!!!!!!!! :peace:

I don't have a daughter; however, if I did I would do my best to teach her to project self respect by dressing modestly enough that she wouldn't embarrass herself or the people she interacts with.

I definitely do not approve. I think at that age parents need to help their children make wise choices. When my daughter was that age she headed out with a short skirt a couple of times but I sent her back to dress appropriately for school. Kids will all try that kind of thing. But parents need to be prepared to enforce a proper dress code.

I do agree with you completely!!!! It seems todays' parents are still not OLD ENOUGH OR WISE ENOUGH to have children. Maybe they are too young or maybe they are into "fashion" a little too much!!! Believe me they should know better!!! No kid of 14 should be dressing like the models in magazines or the "hollywood bunch"!!!!! Makes me wonder just how their children will be when that day comes!!!!!!!!!
