We allow the kids to open their gifts on Christmas morning. When our family comes over for dinner we exchange gifts and open those after dinner.

It's just my husband and I so we take turns open one a day for each day in December till Christmas. We have a lot of fun with it.

I usually open one present each on the evening of Christmas eve. These are like our pajamas. We all get a new one for Christmas. The rest of the presents are opened on Christmas day.

We open presents first thing. We do a "dollar gift"; mainly stocking filler type gifts, for the kids after dinner to keep the day going.

I try to save as many gifts I receive from friends until Christmas morning to open them.  Otherwise I open them when we exchange at parties/gatherings before Christmas.  Our extended family gets together Christmas day - so I do one gift exchange in the afternoon on Christmas Day, and another early evening.

Growing up, we got to open presents from relatives (Grandma/Grandpa, etc) on Christmas Eve and then everything else first thing Christmas morning (after my Dad read us a story).  I have kids of my own now, they are still young (under 3) but we are going to opening presents Christmas morning.  :present:

We normally do our immediate family gifts Christmas Eve after dinner and then extended family Christmas afternoon after Christmas dinner.

We usually give into the urge and open one each on Christmas Eve and then have what is referred to as "Big Rippings" on Christmas morning.  I will admit, however, that as we grow older, we sleep in later and have our coffee and cocoa before we settle in to opening presents.  Just want to say, we are so grateful that we have people who care about us enough to send presents and that we are fortunate enough to be able to give to others.  Merry Christmas to all!
