Title: Timing Out When Posting????
Post by: bostonphil on December 28, 2013, 05:53:30 am
I have twice now received a message that my session has timed out when trying to reply to a post on Forum. I am not able to post my response. I have had to copy my response, go back to the members' post, paste and then I have been able to post my response without any difficulty.

Anyone else having this problem.  :dontknow:

I've had it happen rarely. It usually when I start replying then forget to actually post the reply

I have had this happen to me today. It was weird as I have not experienced this before.

I had a similar experience today, too.  I didn't notice a timing out message, but could not get my words to post.  I would click "post" and nothing would happen. I could go the the "preview" option with no trouble, but not the "post" option. I finally copied my post, went back to the thread and started from square one.  The second time I tried, it worked.

This has happened to me -- usually on a long and detailed post.  Finally got into the habit of doing a right click copy just in case the post is timed out.

if I have a long post i type intoa notepod or word doc 1st then copy it into the posting area.
when submitting a post i always click post I never preview it.
sometimes i geta message that someone else has posted to the catagory then I just click post again
It may have timed out a couple of times but it has never been a major problem. :peace:

As a matter of fact, yes, I have been timed out of my forum session several times.  I haven't been able to figure that one out.   ???

I didn't know you could time out on the Forum. The only place I have ever timed out is on Tasks. How much time does the Forum give you until you time out?

I think it usually happens if others are posting at the same time.... it is to give us the opportunity to read other posts in case we want to change something.....

I do not know what the problem was but it has not happened for a while. It is all ok now. When I was having the problem, I had to copy and paste my post. I was never able to post the original. The problem also happened within a very short time period. I did not spend a lot of time writing a post.  ???

I am glad that the problem got corrected.  :)
