Title: Washing dishes
Post by: Skyenkit on January 09, 2014, 07:55:29 am
How do you wash your dishes by hand or dishwasher? I wash pots, knives with wood handles by hand and the rest went to dishwasher.

Depending on how many dishes I have,,,,,,   small amount I wash by hand.  Love to watch the birds in the back yard while I am doing the dishes.  If I have a quite a few dishes I fill up the dishwasher and let it run. There is only two of us so its just easier to wash them by hand.

I use the dishwasher, it can take all day to fill it, but after supper it's almost full so I run it then.  I don't normally cook on a Friday or Saturday night, so those days I do them by hand.

A bit of both: hand wash when the dishwasher is full.

My dishwasher tore up.  So I usually put them in hot water 2 or 3 times and by then I just have to rinse them off.  I hate washing dishes.

Actually, you do have a dish washer.  What's your name? lol.  I have tried to get the cats to wash mine but they just don't grasp it.  Say they get dish pan paws.   :cat:

I wash all my dishes by hand. I moved from a condo with a dish washer to a house without one. I decided that I wanted to have a yard worse than a dish washer. I am beginning to regret that choice though,ha! ha! I swear it seems as though the dishes breed when I'm not looking! I get them all washed up and leave the kitchen only to return a little later to find another sink full! It seems to be a never ending chore. ???

This is really funny. I am from the United Kingdom and there, kitchens are so small and in fact floor space is at a premium generally. There is never any room for a dishwasher. Goodness, it wasn't until I moved to the states that I got my first clothes dryer! So now, I am really fortunate, I have a clothes dryer and a dishwasher but I'm afraid I'm so used to washing up without a dishwasher that I still don't use it. I always wash up by hand, even on Thanksgiving and Christmas. You can't teach an old dog new tricks!

Being old school, I wash dishes by hand. Even though there is a dishwasher in the apartment where I live, it pretty much is idle. Seems a waste of time since it is often necessary to sort items that can and cannot go into the dishwasher and you end up washing dishes anyway.  :)

I usually wash my dishes by hand and I let them soak for about 1/2 an hour before starting. But if I am unable to do them because I am sick or too tired I will put them in the dishwasher so they can get clean. I consider my dishwasher a helper when I am unable to do them myself.

I wash by hand.  I have a dishwasher, but I use it for storage.  People make fun of me. And I don't care.

A combination of both for me. If it is just a few dishes, I will do them by hand. The after dinner dishes go straight in the dishwasher....lol

I am a dishwasher gal.  Although, I do have to wash everything by hand at work.
We have a complete kitchen and I eat a meal or two there every day.

I wash my dishes by hand.  I don't have the necessities of a dishwasher and, even if I did, it would not matter.  I prefer to do my own dishes and they are done before I go to bed each night.  It is better for me, because if it is one thing I cannot stand is a bunch of dishes standing in the sink.   :rainbow:

I wash my dishes by hand, I dont have a dishwasher, but even if I did, I dont like to have to rinse them, before putting them in the dishwasher, might just as well wash them and be done

I wash mine by hand everyday. It is just so much easihting with hubby because he thinks you can just put them in dirty and turn on the dishwasher. So i just do them. Besides it gives me a few mintues alone in the kitchen. Does not take long, because i usually wash up pots and pans if i use them during the day. Or at least run hot soapy water in them, then they wash up real easy.

I do the same thing you do - wash pots and pans by hand, but pretty much everything else goes in the dishwasher. I am not sure how much work a dishwasher actually saves, since I rinse everything off before putting it in the dishwasher (which is practically washing the thing by hand), but I like the idea that the dishwasher sterilizes the dishes with really hot water, so I am sure they are really clean.

I wash my dishes by hand.  I fill an old detergent bottle with a little bleach and fill the rest with water.  I squirt that in the dishwater to keep things sanitary, especially if someone in the house is sick.

I wash dishes by hand.  It is really a relaxing time for me, just to forget about everything else and just enjoy the nice hot water.

Mostly I wash my dishes by hand, sometimes dishwasher is not as clean as by hands, especially for big oil pot.
