Title: what kind of books do you read
Post by: aggie49 on January 19, 2014, 01:34:45 pm: i read drama's true stories and novels i love to read but can't do it alot because i get bad migranes if i read too long

I was an avid reader when a kid but now I spend most all my time on the internet unfortunately in the never ending pursuit of extra money.

It's been a while since I've found a good book/series that got me interested though so mostly my time has been split between doing/reading things on the internet and reading text books to hopefully help me find a job.

Mainly they're spiritual type books. The book I'm currently reading is called "I Am That" by Nisargadatta Maharaj. Not sure yet what I'll read when I finish this one. I'm thinking I might read the Epic of Gilgamesh.

I'm currently reading about "how to use" certain software and I enjoy reading about numerology and receiving insights regarding the reasons why some people operate the way they do. I'm fascinated with learning about how each of us is unique and interesting; our strengths, natural tendencies, etc.

Self discovery and learning about others is always, always, always interesting, to me. :heart:

Post by: haimsterette on February 03, 2014, 09:12:29 am: I'm so glad someone made a topic of this! :) I love reading, get the bug from my parents (sister is the black sheep when it comes to that - hardly does any reading at all!). I'm almost done with In Cold Blood by Truman Capote. Mostly I favor short stories (Sylvia Plath, Miranda July, Ray Bradbury is good, too) and contemporary young adult fiction. Books in verse are also really interesting. :star:

I particularly like reading a book and then getting to discuss it with other people. The book club also gets me to read books I would generally not pick out for myself, which expands my horizons quite a bit. We try to read all genre's - fiction, non-fiction, biographies, etc.
