WHEN DO YOU NORMALLY START YOUR COUNT DOWN FOR CHRISTMAS?
Seems like christmas is so far away yet so close. Sometimes people wait to get gifts but if you have a big family then youknow that christmas shopping starts a little earlier. Normally waiting til later normally means that I forgot some people because I find it hard to think and focus in all that christmas shopping traffic. :angry7: :BangHead:
SO WHEN DO YOU PLAN OR WHEN DO YOU NORMALLY DO YOUR SHOPPING? :dontknow:
-
USED TO START SHOPPING IN OCTOBER WHEN THE THREE KIDS WERE YOUNGER.... NOW THAT THEY'RE ALL GROWN.. 2 WEEKS OUT. FUNNY, THEY DONT NEED AS MUCH WHEN THEY'RE OLDER
-
168 days till Christmas..........but who's counting? (LoL)
-
I usually have everything done by Thanksgiving that way when everyone is mad dashing through stores I can do a leisurely stroll with a "ha ha, you waited till the last minute laugh!" I usually start in August.

Christmas is less than 6 months away.June went by fast and it is already the middle of July.August and September will go by fast too. When October comes before you know it, it is halloween, then thanksgiving and the day after thanksgiving the stores are busy until Christmas with a lot of Christmas shoppers buying presents and people buying food for christmas get togethers.
-
Usually at the beginning of December, but my family gets together the first or second weekend in December for our big family Christmas, we are talking 5 bros and sisters, spouses, kids, grandkids, over 50 people, so now I start at Thanksgiving or a few weeks earlier.
-
Maybe November, most likely December 1st or later
-
I start my Christmas shopping in November after Thanksgiving because after that, everyone is ready to get all of the Christmas shopping and decorating done....and you can feel the Christmas spirit in the air and it makes it much more enjoyable.

i christmas shop all year long!
i pick up things here and there, when i have the money.
i find that if i wait until the end of the year to start,
its harder on my wallet. plus, it keeps me from impulse buying.

I dont count down, I am a last minute type of person so I wait until the week of to start and finish my shopping!
-
I used to shop in the opposite season as someone mentioned above, but for some reason, I just got out of habit. Lately I've been starting around September/October. I'm hoping to get started earlier this year and get it out of the way!
-
i usually start a week or two before christmas. last year was so tight on money we started two weeks before and had to budget every present. This week we can get so and so's present, next week it will be... etc....
This year will hopefully be alot better. :)
-
3 1/2 more months til Santa's helpers have to go shopping for the kids...lol
-
i start at december :o :o :o
-
I'm always a last minute guy. Always on the 23rd or 24th, I rush out and get something for everyone close to me.
-
though my immediate family is small (just my husband, 2 kids and myself) my extended family (from my father's side) is huge!!! so to make the cost of christmas easier on our single-income budget, i shop all year long. every year on dec 26th i make a list of all the people i intend to buy something for, and add any notes of things they might want, or need. as the year goes buy, i'll add and remove things from that list, sometimes using the ideas for birthdays, or other holidays. and throughout the year, whenever i am doing my regular shopping, i'll buy things i come across that i know i can gift, if the budget allows. so for this christmas, i'd say i'm about 80% done already.
i also buy anything that is specifically christmas related (decorations, cards, wrapping paper, etc) right after christmas because its usually clearance

Too many birthdays cumped at the end and the begining of the year for me. Must start early, early, early, well thats always the plan for some reason it never quite happens that way, I planned on already having things underway but havent started yet hopefully soon...we will see.

1 month and 3 days to Christmas day!
-
My countdown to Christmas in my household started on black friday. I normally try to do all my shopping between now and the week before Christmas, that way I can tend to other things at home to prepare for the big day.
-
my inlaws start shopping the day before christmas and are done by thanksgiving. They bring two minivan loads of presents every year. I don't know how they do it. I am like most people and don't really start till after thanksgiving
