Title: Housework

Do you ever begin your housework thinking you are very energetic only to realize "you bit off more than you can chew?" Such as rearranging a room or rooms?

I feel it all the time.  Sometime I left it for the next day.  Sometime I want to force myself to finish the job.

seems like it takes me longer each day.  I don't seem to have it in me any more.  I used to do it a night when everyone was a sleep and out of my way.  Now I would just rather sleep.  Don't like not having that energy that I used to have.

Yes, that's why I don't try to clean the whole house in one or two days. I clean one room at a time or do a little bit at a time. I don't have the energy I did when I was younger.

I do get more ambitious than I can handle often. I get excited about some changes I want to make only to find out it involved more than I planned.

I always run into other stuff that needs to be done before I can continue with what I wanted to do in the first place...endless...to infinity and beyond.  :silly:

Having to change things around in the house is a big chore.  At this point, I hate it because my hubby makes me so frustrated when we try to do it.  I want to get a new bedroom set, but we can't afford it right now. :( :( :( :rainbow:

Happens to me all the time and I am the type of person that likes to finish what I have started. So I do finish my house work, but I would shorten my list of chores.

Yes, but if I've made a big mess, I'll go ahead and finish it up.  If there's not a lot of mess, then I'll just put it off for another day.

I try to change things around seasonally, but what I try to avoid whatever involves moving the cable or internet wires!  It's not only that it is such a pain to line the wires up again, but I hate that reboot, too.  For me the task is actually easier at this point than envisioning something new.  Once I can actually picture something that will work, I can just get to it.

Oh yeah.  My favorite story is the day I decided, while cleaning up the kitchen, to clean some of the handles on my cabinets.  My husband suggested that the job would be a lot more effectively done if I let him remove all the handles so that I could wash them.  So we did.  Then when I was having him put them back on the cabinets...yes, this did mean he could use power tools....he discovered that one of the cabinet doors was not straight.  More power tools....yippee!. But then the straightening of the door required a shim.  More power tools to cut the shim.  Then the screw for the hinge flew behind the refrigerator.  We moved the refrigerator to get the screw and discovered  a black mold spot on the carpet under the fridge.  So, we had to lift the carpet to find out how much moisture there was.  He decided that it could not have been water from the fridge and that the pipes in the wall must be leaking.  More power tools! He cut a hole in the wall to check the pipes. No, no leak.  Then we had  to fix the hole in the wall and then put everything back in place and clean up the drywall dust, the paint and the sawdust. Geezy cow.  I just wanted to remove a few finger prints from the cabinet door handle. So , yeah. It happens.

I get that feeling about a lot of projects that I line up for myself -- not just housework.  But housework is something that can wait.  I fit it into my schedule of things and it rarely get into the "A" category of projects.

it feels good to see so many with the same problem as me. I thought it was just me that is weird & cant do housework or clean. Planning is great & I am a great planner, I'm just a really lousy doer. After finishing the planning, I too tired to do it!I end up ignoring the mess it'll 1day I suddenly notice the mess & it greatly annoys me.Without thinking I get a burst of energy & just clean it. After it's done I think to myself now why did it take this long to get this done!Yet the same pattern happens again! ???

Yea, I feel like that all the time.  I used to keep my house spotless.  Once a year I would do a thorough spring cleaning job where I cleaned one room at a time from top to bottom.  I moved all the furniture, dusted, cleaned the walls, and washed the curtains.  The whole house felt so fresh and clean.  But now, I only do as much as I have to.  I just don't have the energy, desire or time to do it all.

I only do routine cleaning regularly and for extensive cleaning, I ask for help from the kids.

I get energetic for a number of things, but never housework. I just know I have to get things done eventually or otherwise things will just keep on collecting.

Yes that is me. It is even harder when I start cleaning and my two kids mess the room back up. Sometimes it feels like 1 step forward two steps back.

I used to do that all the time. I will decide to organize something, get half way through and won't feel like finishing. I'm not as bad as I used to be at this but I still do it sometimes.

That has never happened to me.  If there is something to do, I do it but I never over do it.
