To me America represents Liberty.  The American Dream is the rights, privileges and freedoms to pursue one's goals, dreams and passions (ie. the pursuit of happiness).  Unfortunately, many of our rights, privileges and freedoms have been eroding over the years as governments seek to control and regulate all things under every imaginable condition.  God Bless America!

To not have people who are not legal dictate what our GOV should do for them. If their county will not do for them then do not come here with your border babies and anchor babies and try to dictate what our GOV should do for them.

To those that use the phrase "god bless america"

“For a certainty I perceive that God is not partial, but in every nation the man that fears him and works righteousness is acceptable to him.” (Acts 10:34, 35) Peter had learned that God’s view of people is not determined by race, nationality, or any other external factors. Peter proceeded to bear witness about Jesus’ ministry, death, and resurrection.

It used to mean that anyone that worked hard could get ahead.  It no longer seems to mean that.  Now the way to get ahead seems to be by taking as much as you can from the government.

for me, it means being able to provide for my family, paying the bills, having money saved for retirement, and other expenses. As well, as having a nice, affordable place to live, and an affordable car to drive.

To me it means being free from debt and making enough income to have the freedom to enjoy my life now, and not have to wait 20 or 30 years to enjoy it.

the American dream has a different meaning to every citizen. The American dream offers the freedom to make both the large and small decisions that affect one’s life. For some it is the dream of freedom and equality, for others it is the dream of a fulfilled life or even the dream of fame and wealth. The American dream is achieved through sacrifice, risk-taking and hard work, not by chance. the American dream is the opportunity and freedom for all citizens to achieve their goals and become rich and famous if only they work hard enough.

To me, the American Dream isn't necessarily a "thing" but rather the journey that one takes to reach a certain "goal." For instance, having a family, going through pains and struggles, making money, etc., is all part of a "journey" to become better. I think the American Dream is more of a motivational idea as to where people want to work towards a better life. You might see a successful person and think "wow, i want to be like that," and then you push yourself to become betteri n order to live like that
