Title: Non-sugar cereal
Post by: melodylogan45 on March 17, 2014, 08:30:32 am
What non-sugar or low calorie  cereal do you like? I like cherrioes and  rice cereals. There are so many brands and flavors of cereal out there and they are very expensive unless you caught them on sale or have coupons.

I really like rice chex.  And your right the worst part of cereal is how expensive they are.  I don't mind purchasing store brands.  Most of the shopping I do is at Aldi though and they don't offer a rice chex yet.  In fact the other day I saw there version of honey grahams.  I jumped on them.  Brought them home and had a bowl that night.  I couldn't believe how much sugar had been added to them.  I don't remember the name brand having that much if any sugar on them.

I like honey nut cheerios. Cereal is so expensive that I don't buy it much anymore. I buy Pops for my grandson.

My favorite cereals are Cherios and Corn Flakes. I usually add banannas to it, or other fruit.

Grapenuts and cheerios.  There isn't much choice when looking for sugar-free!

Cheerios is my favorite low-sugar cereal. My mother recently needed to cut down on sugar and that first thing we looked at were the cereal nutrition labels. Cheerios has just 1 gram of sugar per serving. Shredded Wheat has 0 grams of sugar per serving. FYI, 4 grams of sugar is equivalent to 1 teaspoon of sugar. Some of those sugar coated cereals are pretty high up there.

I prefer wheat chex myself.  They are not only low in sugar; but, also high in fiber!
