Title: How do you eat beef steak: tartar, rare-done, medium, or welldone?

I guess I must not know this jargon. What is tartar? Never heard of it. Sounds interesting though. I am not really much of a steak eater either. I like mine well-done.

But sometimes I have to cook with bee 9meatloaf or hamburgers0 for hubby who is a beef and potatoe eater. I prefer chicken, light pork or turkey. But he will eat whatever I fix.

Post by: 12amos on March 19, 2014, 09:24:31 pm: In order for me to eat any type of steak it needs to be well done. When I bite into my steak I don't want any red or pink showing. This does not work for me. As long as it's well done I'm good. :)

Ewwww! Sometimes I don't know why I'm not a vegetarian but that occasional cheeseburger will not be denied.

Post by: lvstephanie on March 21, 2014, 09:01:24 am: I've never heard of "rare-done", but I suppose that is just "rare"... I like my steak med.-rare or medium if the steak is really thick. I agree that cooking it too well-done just takes away a lot of the flavor. I've never had tartar, but I know if it's too blue, my gag reflexes will kick in, so I may not like beef prepared that way.

Growing up, we rarely ate steak, but any meat my mom cooked was always done and there was no pink, so that is the way I am used to eating meat.

The chemicals and additives not to mention gmo feed has polluted livestock...no longer safe to eat
