Do you know the true meaning of a 'job'? A job means ' just over broke' LOL
-
A job means you are not on welfare.
-
In my honest opinion, a job says that you have something to do to make some money. It means you do not have to be on welfare, and can do more for yourself without depending upon others.   :rainbow:

Jobs mean you need to earn hard money in order to eat and pay bills.

What if your job is working for low wages that are so low that they can be subsidized by welfare. That would still be a job, right? One very large company who is one of the largest employers in the nation, & it's coming out that many others, actually tell their employees how to get government benefits, it's part of their training. So if you are part of this ever increasing working poor demographic, you would still have a job, yet get welfare.
A career is where you don't rely on government subsidizes, I would think.

when i worked for a certain large retail company it was suggested that you contact the state to get assistance because they refused to raise their pay. sad but true also when i was going to college they told me that i couldnt qualify because i made to much income but that i should have a child so that i would be able to get loan help how exactly does that make any sense what so ever?

Yes, because no one with a job is on welfare, a lot of people on welfare also work.

I think a job means that most of your day is used up trying to make enough money to survive. I was very much against going on disability but have so many problems no longer could deal with it and work. It is harder to survive on disability but it gives a measure of freedom as well. And lol think "just over broke" is a good way to describe it.

Working to earn $$$$$ to pay bills, housing, food, and for things you need or want.

theres some other meaning to the word job other then money although the word job is commonly known as work to get paid but there are other things that the word is.
like jobs around the house or training or inventing or creating or volunteer ect... the actual meaning of a job is a task or tasks that need to be completed in order to accomplish something and/or a goal.
to me the word job means working up and moving ever so forward to what my goals are. :cat:

In my opinion a JOB means being self-sufficient!!!!

A job helps you earn a living. I am so thankful that I have a job in these difficult economic times. I am truly blessed.
-
I thought Job was that guy in the Bible. :D

The word "job" doesn't do much for me except make me nervous, because I have severe anxiety and haven't had a "real job" yet. It just really intimidates me.  Hopefully I'll be able to find something where I can work alone. lol I think it's great if people have a positive attitude toward working and actually enjoy clocking in every morning. My dad's been blessed with a steady job he's great at and likes. :) Everyone should have that! :rainbow:

Funny. Sad. Too true-some days I really wish money did grow on trees :)

most job's I ever had were like slave labor with no respect.. most people suck at their job's especially doctors and lawyers.. I hate the wage inequality and the horrible co-workers and all the politics and b.s. that come with most slave labor jobs. just over broke is right.

A "job" is the employment of an individual to perform certain duties or responsibilties in return for reward or pay! (PS. I used to work in recruitment for ten years! Loved it!).
-
I think a job is something you do for reward or pay, generally enough to provide necessities. A career is a chosen path that helps you move forward and upward, to better yourself. There is a difference, to me. A job helps you get by and a lot of times we choose them because they are available, not because it's something we love. Sad but true :(
