Title: Blood moon
Post by: ktheodos on April 14, 2014, 03:44:50 pm
Eclipse tonight...anyone going to try to stay up and see it or just see photos? And no, I don't think this has a relation to any crazy apocolyptic stories...

This is the first I'm hearing about it.  Is it supposed to be visible everywhere?  What time?

I would love to stay awake and see it but it's going to happen rather late I think (2 am?) and unfortunately I have to wake up at like 6 to get ready for work! But I'm hoping to see some great photos from it!

I will probably just look at the pictures online tomorrow because it is cloudy here and probably would not be able to see it anyway.

I would be interested, but the weather I'm located never gives very good sky views for anything. I only briefly saw a lunar eclipse I think last year, but the quality was poor and very infrequent inbetween clouds.

It probably was seen in some states where the weather was rather nice, but it was rainy here all day yesterday.  Actually, I have never heard of a "blood moon". ??? ??? ??? :rainbow:

I wasn't able to see it because of the weather, but I've seen a blood moon before and it's cool.

I did not know about an eclipse. I might take a picture depending on how late it is. I would like to see it though. Always like to watch them.

I would have loved to have seen it, but it was cloudy here.  We got another soaker last night.  I hope it washed some of the pollen away.

Yeah, guess it actually happened, seems the photos published all verify the fact, so what is the big deal about this happening? I know, it caused global warming! :)

We could not see it either.  Too many clouds and rained most of the night down south.  Cold front pushed through.

I saw it and it was gorgeous.  It went from 11 to 2 am here.  You could see a planet and a bright star next to it here too very clearly.   Nature is cool.

We saw the moon through the clouds disappear and then come back, but no blood.

I was going to stay up to see it, but I was too tired. It was raining so I probably wouldn't have been able to see it anyway.

Had forgotten about it so thanks for the reminder.  I don't have to stay up to see it because I am a night owl and stay up extremely late 1 - 3 am anyway.  It would be neat to see.

I missed it due to clouds but have seen it in the past and it was pretty special then!

I'm usually up that late and kept peaking out to see what I could see, but the weather didn't cooperate.  It kept raining off and on, but even when the rain was off, it was still too cloudy to find the moon.  I wish I could have seen what a blood moon was all about!

I woke up at 3:42 am which was a bit too late to see the total eclipse, but did see the moon covered in shadow by about 3/4.  The color of the moon was more dusty orange than blood red.  Perhaps the color depends on dust in the atmosphere.

Since i stayed up studying  until  4 am on the blood moon i was able to catch a glance at it but were i was there was a bit a cloud coverage.

I saw it. I didn't have as clear or as good of a view I would have liked but I did get to see it fairly decent I think. I typically miss out on events like this and meteor showers too. I didn't get to see the comets that passed by not too long ago either so I was pretty pleased that I actually got to see as much of this eclipse as I did.  :D

I tried to see the blood moon eclipse. I stayed up to see it despite having a class @ 8am the next day. I couldn't see it though because it was too cloudy outside. :/

I had a similar experience because there were a lot of clouds in my area. The only difference is that where I live the sky looked a reddish-orange color.

well... The prophecy is real... Everything is happening just like it is supposed to...Mark Blitz and John Hagee speak of a lunar tetrad as representing a fulfillment of Biblical prophecy. After all, the moon is supposed to turn blood red before the end times, isn’t it? As described in Joel 2:31 (Common English Bible):

The sun will be turned to darkness, and the moon to blood before the great and dreadful day of the LORD comes.

I didn't see much, but the location I'm at hardly ever gets all the special bells and whistles I hear on seeing including meteor shower or a solar eclipse. Even a lunar eclipse a couple years ago it was only briefly before all the clouds started to settle in.
