Which do you use?
-
I have a dishwasher. I do sometimes was s dish or two by hand. But mostly I use the dishwasher.
-
My utility bill skyrockets when I used the dishwasher, haven't tried the new-age-ones. I do the dishes by hand.
-
I would like to have a dishwasher, but It uses too much water.
-
I dont have a dishwasher other then my two hands, and thats what I use
-
I'm the same. No dishwasher here except my two hands and I think I actually prefer it that way. I don't mind doing dishes in the least and I know that my dishes are getting clean and no chance of residue left on them and saves on water. :)
-
I use a dishwasher.
-
Wash the dishes.... My dishwasher is to old to work (or need some repairs)... I don't complain to much, it only takes at least 3-7 mins to wash and I make sure it's clean as a heck
-
I use a dishwasher for plates, cups, glasses and silverware but do my pots and plastic ware by hand. The latter take up too much space in the dishwasher and because of that it is too expensive to do them in the dishwasher.

I have a dishwasher in our current house and I have been living here for 7 years. In that time, I may have used my dishwasher 3 times! The reason I use it so infrequently is explainable. I am from England and property space is so much at a premium in England that the average kitchen space does not allow for a dishwasher. (Many people don't have Clothes Dryers either!). So I have grown up without one and now don't use it because I am so used to not having one. On occasion, when we have guests over for Thanksgiving, I am so overwhelmed with dirty pots and dishes that I recall where I left the dishwasher and use it gratefully!

I wash dishes by hand. It is a chore I don't mind doing. When I lived in Chicago, I lost an apartment because my ex-husband's cousin left a greasy skillet in the oven. When it happened, she bypassed my apartment, went upstairs to the third floor and got stuck with that family. I saved materials in our apartment because I raised up the window. Since that day, which occurred in February 1979, I am the person who makes sure that the dishes are done and put away because that showed me that things do happen.   :rainbow:

We do both, but we mostly use our dishwasher.
-
I do both. I put all of my dishes, silverware and glasses in the dishwasher, but I wash by hand all of my pots and pans.
-
I have always washed dishes by hand even when I've had a dishwasher.
-
I wash dishes by hand...I have a dishwasher but I never used it
-
I can't imagine having a dishwasher and not using it! I love being able to load it up and hide the dirty dishes until I'm ready to wash. I do wash most of my pots and pans by hand, and knives, to keep them sharp, but everything else washable goes in the automatic dishwasher.
-
I wash my dishes myself.
-
I don't have a dishwasher any more. It is easier to wash by hand then argue with hubby about how to load one. I don't really mind. I go off to the kitchen and wash them and enjoy my peace and quite. Once in a while hubby will wash them and then I go back go over some. What is it about men. Oh I know it is so they don't have to do them.
-
I mainly wash dishes directly by hand/sponge, but I do transfer more towards a dishwasher when my family is hosting a party several times a year. To ensure the dishwasher wears due to non-use I try to use the dishwasher once a month too during off times.
-
Wash by hand - don't have a dishwasher
-
I will wash dishes by hand if we have run out of detergent and it is between pay periods. But when we do a dinner and we use the good china I always hand wash cause I don't want to risk it getting broken.
-
I Wash the dishes :)
-
Mostly the dishwasher, but I prerinse everything. Then, of course, there is handwash!
-
I tend to rinse/wash the dishes before putting them in the dishwasher, so, basically both.
-
I have a dishwasher but i still wash my own dishes
-
I do both. I'll use the dishwasher only when I have a full load of dishes to wash.
-
I don't own a dishwasher, I wash my dishes by hand.
-
Which do you use?
Well, growing up. That was one of my responsibility, washed up dishes after breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Even now I washed my dishes after used. No no dish washer..
-
Dishwasher mostly.
-
I wash my dishes by hand, I'm not sure if I would even know how to use a dishwasher!
-
We did have a dishwasher but it broke so for now we wash by hand.
-
I would prefer to use a dishwasher, but my husband would rather wash by hand.
-
either one i like both
-
I do wash them by hand. My dish washer is old so sometime it break my dishes, I don't want to buy new one.
-
Both sorta. If it's a dishwasher safe dish, then it's in the dishwasher, but generally I do a bit of scrubbing before hand to remove the bits of food that may still be on the dishes. When I'm by myself, I tend to be better at cleaning up, but when you get stuck in a house where no one does dishes, it's hard to keep up the habit.
-
Most of the time we use a dishwasher. It's only me and my husband in the house, so we usually just keep loading it til it gets full, then run it. But if it's only a couple dishes in the sink, I'll just wash them by hand.
-
we do the same procedure, since its only 2 of us. washdishes& keeping the kitchen clean is much easier now, using our dishwasher. honeybunch1. :moneymouth:
-
Both- Dishwasher at home and wash by hand at work.
-
I do the dishes by hand most of the time, and I run the dishwasher if I have a lot of dishes.
-
I fill up the dishwasher for a couple of days and when it's full I run it. Mostly do pots and some other items by hand.
-
I wash my dishes by hand
-
I wash my own dishes.
-
Anything that can go in the dishwasher goes in it at my house but the coated pans have to be washed by hand and I always seem to have at least 1 or 2 of those waiting to be hand-washed.
-
only by hand - haven't seen a dishwasher since 1995 and miss it too! :-X
-
i do it the old fashion way. you have to wash them before you put them in the dishwasher or all the gunk won't come off..so why waste all that water and electricity? ???
-
I do both... I first wash the dishes by hand, but because I can't get the water hot enough when washing by hand, I'll then stick them into the dishwasher to sanitize the dishes (and to remove odors, grease, etc. that require a high-temp wash). For dishes, pots and pans, utensils etc. that I just cook with, then I'll just wash by hand (unless like it's too greasy to effectively wash by hand). Also some dishes that just had crumbs (eg it held just a sandwich, fresh veggies / fruit, etc.) I'll just wash by hand.
-
Yes, I wash dishes by my hand at home. Thank You!
-
If I have a lot of dishes I use the dishwasher, but for just a few it does not make a lot of sense (and cents) to run a dishwasher. For sandwiches & quick food items I use disposables.
-
We use a dishwasher for silverware and dishes. I hand wash pots/pans, tupperware and my travel mug.
-
I used dishwasher but i hand wash some of it.
-
I wash dishes by hand. Always have and always will. This way I know my dishes are clean and spotless.
-
I love my dishes and I love hand washing them. I do all the dishes for everyone in the house and i enjoy it. I have a new dish washer...but never use it. Have a great weekend.
-
Have never owned a dishwasher nor do I have access to one. I guess I'm still using the old method.
-
I actually wash dishes by hand. The house we bought came with a dishwasher, but I rather wash them by hand for sanitation purposes. I think dishes get cleaner when washed by hand.
-
even when i have had a dishwasher, i never use it..i have to wash them before they get put in there, so why bother to burn up the extra water and electricity??
-
I never have used or owned a dishwasher but since I live by myself it doesn't really matter
-
Which do you use?
I use both, dishwasher and wash with my hands.
-
My dishwasher is broken so everything is done by hand. At some point I kind of miss the dishwasher because I am not sure if it is completely sanitized when my oldest son's turn to wash them. He said it is too hard for him because he has a lot of homework.
-
We used to use our dishwasher, but we stopped using it a couple years ago. Now it serves as a partial storage area for some dishes and as a drying rack for after hand-washing our dishes. We use less water by washing our dishes by hand, and we don't use that many dishes or as frequently as we used to so it just made more sense to stop wasting money on excess & unnecessary water usage and detergent.
-
We wash pots and pans by hand and plates and silverware in the dishwasher.
-
We have a dishwasher.
-
I use both depends on how my dishes or in the sink. If there's a lot then we use the dishwasher. Also depends on how I feel..if I get lazy, i just put everything in the dishwasher.
-
I washy dishes as I live in an assit. living
-
I've done both depending on what we had... I now use a dishwasher but we are moving and I don't know if they have a dishwasher or not...
-
Forgive me , testing waters here. I have never posted and have really just come across this forum.
I miss my dish washer, I now wash by hand. Try to be green shut water off while washing then rinse!!http://d1o9fadw0wez7f.cloudfront.net/Smileys/Lots_O_Smileys/peace2.png
-
I rinse them off good in the sink but then use the dishwasher
-
When I lived in my Condo, I had a dishwasher, but since moving into a house, no dishwasher-the cost of water to use it is too much.
-
We scrub in the sink, then use the dishwasher.
-
Actually, neither. I'm blessed ~ my husband is a dirty dish fanatic! He can't stand dirty dishes and does a very good job keeping them cleaned up. I do make sure our dishwasher is in good working condition because I don't know how long he would continue to be that way if he had to wash and dry them by hand! By the way, I do all the cooking, cleaning and laundry so he isn't stuck with all of the domestic chores!
-
I hand wash my dishes I do not trust dishwashers waste more water then it saves.
-
most time everything goes into the dishwasher. there time i have to wash by hand my pot pan i do by hand but all in all it the dishwasher
-
We use a dishwasher to clean most everything but cookware and knives ( and a few other assorted items).
-
I have to hand wash all my dishes because I don't have a dishwasher in my home
-
I use my dishwasher. For many years I didn't have one so I always had to do them in the sink. My now husband always told me that a dishwasher would be a necessity on our home, little did I realize how true that would become once I had one to use! I am so spoiled! :notworthy:
-
Only have a few dishes and pots ... so by hand
-
Disposable paper items. No mess up to clean!
-
i wash the dishes and put the clean dishes in the dish water to dry. i don't turn the dishwasher at all. uses a lot of electricity and water.
-
sadly i wash myself, but i would love a dish washer.
