So i woke up this morning to find a voicemail on my phone
It was someone named Danielle
as i listen to the voicemail they are telling me i am the next of kin to someone and needs the following information
Location, phone number, address, birthdate and they end with etc..
They never mention the person who i am supposidly next of kin to..
and they never represented themselves as anything exept danielle..
I was going to call them back.. but as i replayed the message they really didn't give me any information exept Danielle..
What do you think FusionCash Friends?
Scam? Or No Scam?
You Decide

Delete right away!!! SCAM! :bad:
-
It's a Scam! I received a few emails very similar to your voice mail message. First of all, if I were to inherit some money, there are a lot of people in my family who are more eligible than I. First of all both of my parents are living. How could they skip them, mmmm.
-
Scam. I always get emails in my spam box about an inheritance and they want me to email them my personal info. Please don't respond to these jerks.
-
Really? If you have any doubt in your mind then that scares me. But then again these scammers wouldn't do this if there weren't people out there that fall for it.
-
Definitely scam. A legitimate source would not ask for info over the phone - you would probably be asked to go to a lawyer's office.
-
Hit Delete case closed, why even think of answering them :notworthy:
-
Scam....
-
I wouldn't trust it. If it is legit you would get some kind of legal notice. I wouldn't respond at all. There is just so much craziness out there today.
-
100% SCAM. Delete at once.
-
Scam for sure. Delete and forget.
-
It's an obvious scam.
-
It's a scam. Don't reply. Report it if you can.
-
I got a call one time saying I was named in a civil suit and I needed to call a phone number. I googled it and saw that people who called in were charged $20 per minute on their phone bill.
-
I got a letter in the mail last week with a VERY legit check saying I would be paid for mystery shopping but I needed to wire the amount of the check to cover it or something like that. If it weren't for my good sense I would've fell for it, that check and the explanation (up until the point where I needed to send money) appeared very legit!
-
Anyone who is asking for your personal information and did not mention your name at all it is a scam. Do not reply to this message. :-X
-
SCAM!
-
9000% scam... If your "kin" has died they usually know your contact information to hand out your inheritance... If they don't specify on the name of your "kin" and you, then it's a general scam
-
Definitely a scam.
-
never respond to these things and delete.
-
Scam for sure, I wouldn't call back, be careful!!
-
why would this question even be asked. I don't even store information in the computer anywhere and don't use online banking. I do however make up stuff lol for those who try to hack just get a bunch of made up numbers. I did have some hacking attempts that my virus scan caught someone shut it off.
-
stuff like that worries me so id say scam!!!!!
-
Scam... The person you are supposedly related to - Danielle should have given you that information at the beginning of the message.
-
Scam all the way, I get them sometimes in an email. Just think if this person is kin to you and left you something they would have to go through a lawyer, it read SCAM!!!!!!
-
Definitely a scam! It's crazy the stories they come up with the try and get information from people. It's sad that some will actually fall for these scams. :(
-
SCAM. Enter the phone number into your search and you'll most likely get some pages full of comments from other people called by Danielle and others at that number. Do not ever give your information, or money, to someone you don't know. :-X
-
That is a good question! Scam or no scam?
-
Definitely another phishing attempt to see if they have a live number. Do not call back and block the number. For the other person who got the call about the debt that needed to be paid - that too is a scam. That one often uses threats like the person is going to jail, however, debt is a civil action - no going to jail - besides, even if you were, they would not announce the police were on the way to arrest you.
If you ever get a suspicious call like this, if you have caller ID, type the number in a search engine and look for a site like 800Notes, then read the entries. First, if the number appears there, there's probably a 95% chance it's a scam.
For other letters or emails you get, I suggest going to Snopes.com or UrbanLegends.com and search those sites to see if the email/letter lands on their "fake/scam" evaluation. Those sites can save you from those endless chain letters that morphed into emails.
-
It's a scam. Just delete the voicemail
-
Scam, definitely delete it right away!
-
I would call em back and find out more information if they want money and information with out giving you details then its Scam city.. Really strange to get a call like that for sure.
-
It sure sounds like a scam to me! Beware of anyone seeking personal information on you! :o
-
I will send you the winning lottery ticket but it will cost you 25 dollars. This call is a BIG OLD scam.
-
I definitely wouldn't give them any information not knowing exactly who they are and why they are wanting the information.
-
Definitely a scam, don't give out personal information over the phone or anywhere else unless you know exactly who you are dealing with
-
DELETE DELETE DELETE GOOD IT WAS NOT ON your email, or they would probably have a bug in it, besides getting to your bank accounts etc if you gave them any info at all. I would take the tape and asked the police if they could do anything with it. Ans maybe call local news channels so they can alert others that this is going on.
-
STRAIGHT UP SCAM
-
That's an absolute scam and if there is anyway of reporting that call to the authorities, I would strongly suggest trying. This apparent rip off creep is most likely trying to steal your identity.
-
I would call em back and find out more information if they want money and information with out giving you details then its Scam city.. Really strange to get a call like that for sure.
Yikes!! Even calling them back is beyond foolish. If there was any merit to the call whatsoever, they would call you back.
-
I'm 100% sure it's a scam and I personally wouldn't bother to even call back. But I guess if it got the better of you you could call back on the understanding that you don't give any banking or credit card details away and you don't give any personal details away about yourself other than what they already know. I also definitely wouldn't call with any telephone that I pay any bills on! But personally, it's not worth the anguish I don't think.
-
I got money orders in the mail once, they seemed fake. Ran them right down to the post office and reported it.
-
It sounds like a scam because if it is real they wouldn't ask all those questions on the voicemail. First they would keep ringing until they reached you and ask if you are the person they are looking for and would proceed to tell you who it is for and you will ask who they are and say that you would call them back and you would then call the business bureau to find out if it is legal and from that point on you would know what to do.
-
scam too many scams these days on internet
-
I agree with everyone who has already answered. This call from Danielle is a SCAM.
Scares me to think that there are people out there making calls to random phone numbers and they might reach my parents or other elderly people who would answer every question without any concerns.
I hope there is a way for you to report that person.
-
Since you didn't really receive any information, I'd say it's definitely a scam.
-
ABSOLUTELY a scam.
I would never ever give anyone that type of information with such little to go on.
-
There is so much out there. I had a phone call, with the person claiming he was my grandson and was in mexico and his car broke down and needed money to get home. Yeah right I knew just exactly where my grandson was. I have soe calls on how the irs and the treasurey dept. want to give me $7000.00 free. All I had to do was give them the routing and bank account # and they would deposit it in my bank or my credit card # and they would put it in my account. Well grandma did not bite.
-
This is a scam no doubt! I think it this was legit they would have contacted you through the mail.
