Which do you prefer? Does it depend on what you are buying?

I have two reasons for purchasing items: (1) the quality and (2) what I know to be enjoyable to my family. I buy certain items in bulk regardless of price, but when the price is low, I get more of that item. So it depends upon what I find to be available in the sale paper. :thumbsup: :thumbsup: :thumbsup: :rainbow: :rose:

I have learned that you get what you pay for, so I'll spend a little more for something that won't tear up in a week or two.

I try to compromise: I don't get the cheapest thing but also not the most expensive. It also depends on the items; some items I don't mind store brands, but other things, like Tostitos chips and salsa, I only like the name brand.

That does depend upon what I'm buying at the time. When it comes to electronics, I want quality over price. When it comes to groceries, I have my favorite brands and hardly ever switch unless there's something new I'd like to try. When shopping for groceries, I do want the best price but have to take quality in to consideration, too.

On my limited budget, I have to save money any way I can! Certain brands I may be partial to and then I don't compromise. I like the milk from Born Free. It's really the best tasting milk I have ever bought and it's organic and the cows are not mistreated. I like that idea. It does cost more though sometimes goes on sale. Anyway, the taste of real milk is worth the few extra pennies.

Some times its both i'll get a nice item if i like and will pay a little more for it like clothes.Now food is different will only buy and eat the real Cheerios so will get them on sale.

It does depend on the item, some things are just not worth paying a premium price for to me. An example would be ear buds, I am not an audiophile at all, all I want ear buds to do is transfer understandable sound. I could buy these from $1.00 to $35.00. These things fail in relatively short time periods, regardless of what you pay for them, so to me paying for 'higher quality' is just wasting money. Other items like cars, appliances and such are items I carefully research and in most cases pay for the best quality available.

It depends on what I am purchasing. There are some things I will get at the lowest price possible. But when I am purchasing something important, something I want to last, I will spend more. Here is an example. Last night I went to the store to get dog food. I will never buy cheap dog food. I always look for high quality.

I will always spend more if it means it will last longer sometimes cheaper is deffintley not cheaper in the long run. that's what i have learned anyways.

I always go for the best value/quality while trying to get the cheapest price. I'll shop around on the net and compare prices, at at times seek an additional discount if possible.

It depends on the item. I try to go for the lowest price whenever I can but in some cases if it's an item I will use for a long time I will go for quality instead of price.

I usually go for price most the time because I'm really on to write tight budget! When you ossicles reuse he go for price over quality because you don't have much money! I would like to go for quality but I can't afford it.

I try hard to find quality at a deal. I shop a lot on Ebay and buy a lot second hand to get the quality vs having to buy cheap junk. But it really depends on the items.

It really depends on what the item is. For instance, I usually buy Great Value (store brand) milk from Walmart because it is just as good as any other brand and really the brand qualities are no better. However I can't resist the best bread on earth (Dave's bread) which has 21 whole grains and all the seeds you could hope for. It costs twice as much as any other bread but for me, it is worth it. For electronics, I would always buy a named brand.

Sometime both. But more likely I try the cheapest to buy. But I do compare, if more quality cheaper then I rather buy more to save in the long run rather then the cheapest.

I'm sorry to say that I will choose the lowest price with very few exceptions. If I ever live on a more comfortable budget, maybe I will be more concerned with how it was made (I'd also rather support smaller businesses, but those are more expensive as well) and not only the price.

Usually stick with mid priced and mid quality...found sometimes the touted high quality stuff is overrated.

I always prefer to buy items for their quality and not for the lowest price sometimes your not even saving that much money when you buy lower quality for lower price.

I try to find a balance. There are certain items, which I find critical to have great quality and will pay more, especially when there is safety involved. Other items - particularly food such as cereal I might be a bit more open and will shop more towards price.

It really depends. Most store brands are good while some food like chips or cookies from the dollar store are nasty. If I find a good deal on a quality product I'll buy it.

I typically purchase quality over price - but it's a balance. Just because something has fancy features doesn't necessarily mean it's better "quality". I tend to find things middle of the road so they have durability and longevity due to their quality at a reasonable price.

Depends on what I'm buying. For instance I will buy higher priced detergent because its better. I learned from my mother to always buy for quality which was hard for me for a long time because I'm cheap.

There are some things that you just can't buy the cheaper version. Like Kraft Mac and cheese. Sorry but I have tried "store" brands and they just are NOT as good!!! It's better to pay more for that yummy mac and cheese please!

i like a mix of both. i dont buy the most expensive nor do i buy the cheapest i like the middle ground.

it has to depend on what i'm buying. i remember buying a cheap chinese tablet for $50 and it worked for a while but it was so slow and eventually broke so now i kinda regret just choosing it for the low price. if the item is really expensive, then i buy it used or refurbished. like my toshiba laptop cost around $400 new and i got it refurbished for $180- ive had it for over a year and it's still good.

It depends. If it's something generic which really doesn't matter, lowest price normally. However, if it's something that I expect to last a while, I'll go for better quality as long as it isn't super expensive.

It really depends on what I am buying and what the occasion is. I have two pens that I spent a fairly large amount for but they are well known for their quality and I feel good/rewarded when I use them for all of the hard work I have put in. I have sunglasses that I have spent more money on because I feel better about myself when I wear them and feel that my eyes are better protected. In both of these instances I am much more careful with what I do with these items..I double check myself every time I put them down. Other items are purchased with quality and price in mind. I have a pair of shorts that I bought marked down three times. I live in shorts when I am not in suits. These had all of my specifications: metal zipper, fully closing pockets, tie waist band in addition to buttons which all make for a better constructed short.

It depends on the item that I purchase. Some items you can get away with a lesser than perfect quality, but there are certain situations when a better quality is needed, such as when the item is smoething that you want to last for a longer time.

Sometimes it depends on what I'm buying, but usually I look for the best price. Some products that are priced very close to the other are actually a lesser quality and some are a good quality. If you've been using "cheap" brands for a long time then you're already familiar with what's worth spending more on and what simply isn't.

I will favor more towards quality, but I will also try to sensible too on finding a good price. There are only a few brands I truly will pay more a premium for goods or service.
