Title: do you have alot of friends
Post by: aggie49 on July 23, 2014, 11:35:55 am: i have a few friends that i have been friends with for over 10 years and they are always there for me as well as i am for them

Post by: lgemini on July 24, 2014, 03:52:15 am: I had friends that I always do for them and they did not do for me. When I got sick my friends were not there for me , so I got rid of them. It is nice to have friends that would treat like family. Once you find them keep them they are hard to find.

I'm self employed and work from home so I don't have a workplace to meet new people and my hobbies have gone by the wayside.

They empathize with me meeting the needs of my family and the tremendous time constraint working two jobs can create. My friends text on a weekly basis, call monthly (often with no return call from me), offer to take me on trips at least once a year (no cost to me) and I am never in a position to reciprocate. When we do get together, they are from all over the country, it is like we have never had a a lapse in time away from each other-we pick up from where we left off. Certain friends can be told anything and trust me enough to tell me anything without judgement.

I have never had a lot of friends anyway as I have found as long as I am the giving one, they're great friends but if I need something they are long gone.

Currently only have a couple friends that I can't interact with outside of internet because we all live so far away from each other that the internet is our only means of communication. Someday I hope to get to visit them though.

I have a few close friends like that, too. Even though we've been apart more oft than not lately, we still are close.

It has never worked out for me unfortunately but I was fine with it when my kids were growing up and I was busy with them and my husband. I really have no friends and now it would be nice.
