Opened the fridge and realized that it must be super cold b/c salad is frozen/has ice crystals on it...should I throw out? try to salvage? Anyone try eating it after it's been this way?
-
How Frozen? I would eat it.

I don't think I would eat it. I can just imagine everything wilting quickly as it thaws. When I want a salad I like it to be crisp and fresh. You're fridge made me laugh though.. I just pulled out some miracle whip - practically a new jar as it was nearly full and it had ice crystals all over it. GRRRR.

Usually the greens go bad as soon as it thaws...

I would throw it away. Frozen lettuce would not be so great and once it thaws, it will most likely turn all mushy. Yuck.

I've had that happen before too and I threw it away. As soon as it thaws out it will be mushy and will turn brown. Not very appetizing.

Its not very good once it has been frozen, turns really mushy.

I would toss it. I would think it would become mushy when thawed.

It won't hurt anything. I have had that happen.

I'm not too worried about safety here, but the salad I really don't think will taste much the same anymore if you pursue eating this. Make sure to double check your settings on your refrigerator at least.
